Planning to get ultimate MX ramp/hauler - any required mods?

Hello everyone,

I have a 2012 wrangler unlimited (stock) and I plan to get ultimate MX hauler or ramp (Crank it Up!), here's an example photo of it in action:

I'm wondering how this might affect my jeep. Will getting another suspension (such as the 3'' teraflex lift kit) and/or bigger tires (w/ differential regearing as the stock is 3.27) help reduce the load, or is it just better to keep it stock?

i would go with a 2.5" lift with better springs that can take the extra load and not sag. you should be fine without gearing, but if you notice loss in power while hauling you can always regear down the road. whats the total weight with the bike and mx hauler attached..4-600 lbs?

I use one every Saturday with no issues at all. My CRF450 weighs maybe 250lbs and the Hauler has to be a good 80lbs.

The ultimate hauler is around 57 pounds + bike is around 270 pounds (as per spec sheets). Wouldn't want to cut it close on this :P

Do you use the Hauler or the Ramp? I'm not sure which of the two to get yet.

HA, my estimate on the weight of the bike was WAY off. i would still recommend springs that could take extra weight

I wouldn't fault you. You based your estimates on the bike displayed on the photo, whereas I'm refering to an MX bike such as the one below, which is designed to be light ;p

I had one. In some places, this requires you to relocate the license plate and add extra brake lights too. Everything is blocked by the bike, at least enough to get ticketed for.

I use a Versa-Haul. It's very solid.
