Didn't take too long to dry. I let them sit for about 30 mins out in the sun after I initially did mine.

It is very important that you keep the cans warm...or it will come out in globs. So keep the cans in the house, I kept mine near a space heater before I used them.

I think so, it wasn't quite that cold when I sprayed, but it was in mid-late November in Chicago.

Don't spray it in the house....not unless you want everyone high for a few days.

The smell is similar to spray paint...but it can make you light headed if you are not in a well ventilated area.

Looks great! What did the temperature end up being when you did them? I want to do mine, but it's still in the 40s around here.

Was thinking of doing this myself. Never used the plsti Dip before. Do you need to prime first? What kind of prep work did you do?

I did mine with the wheels still on my Jeep! Just covered the brakes and calipers with a garbage bag. Keeping the bottles warm is key!

Have any of you Plastidippers removed the paint off your wheels yet? If so, was it easy and was the original paint preserved well?

Can't believe how good this looks. Those who have done it, how did you mask the tires?

I just put some index cards between the wheel and the tire and sprayed. You really don't even need to do that. Any over spray on the tires can be peeled right off.

It holds up very well. I live in MI and plasti dipped my wheels and grill in August and went through an entire winter here and no issues. And I power wash my Jeep weekly, yes weekly, to keep all the salt off of it. The color may have dulled some, but no scratches or chips in mine at all.

I am going to put another coat or two one when it gets nice again.

Awesome. Definitely going to have a go at this; I've never used plasti-dip before, I presume that it's thick enough that if I do it while the wheels are still on the Jeep I don't have to worry about runs?

I just went and bought 1 can per wheel to be safe. So I would get 4 if you are doing 4 wheels. So that would be $24 and change with tax.

You can still get runs, just make sure to put nice light even coats on, like maybe 5-6 coats. And whats nice is if you do get a chip or scratch, it's really easy to fix. Just spray on more plasti dip.

I actually did mine while rotating the tires so I killed 2 birds with 1 stone.

For the guys who plastidipped their wheels while the wheels were still on the Jeep, what did you use to cover the calipers and rotors?
