Please help!!

Hello,I am new to this Forum and purchased a 2007 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited about 7 months ago. I bought it "as is" with no warranty after several test drives and a clean carfax report. I had the death wobble within the first week, had to replace clutch assembly within a month, and now need a new motor! I was on the way to work when I threw a rod through the block! The jeep has 70k aprox. and I need advise/help on replacing motor. I found a used motor from an individual but how do you know if it is worth buying?? Any help would be very appreciative!! Sorry for long post!
