This is driving me crazy, I would really appreciate any helpful hints that can help me get down to the bottom of this.
I have a 2014 JKUR auto with AEV 3.5" lift and 35" wheels. It has 750 miles on it, and since I first got it, it is making a whistling sound, not a wind whistle but a vibration whistle - it sounds kind of like a coach's whistle.
It's not speed or wind related. It tends to happen when the engine is somewhat bogged, usually in 4th or 5th gear at about 1.5K rpms and about 20% on the throttle. As soon as I give it 22% throttle, or 18% throttle, it goes away, but if I hold steady at 20% throttle, it will continue.
I tried to take it to the dealer, but they could not figure it out, but also had trouble re-creating the noise. I don't think they tried very hard though.
Anyway, I'm at a loss here and I'm willing to try anything to figure this out. Do you have any ideas what I can try?
