I completely cut off my crash bar too. I didn't install a skid, I just didn't want that ugly bar poking out below the bumper.

Is it easy to tell where to cut it off at? I didn't order a skid either. Thanks!

Yeah, you'll see where to cut it at. I simply used a reciprocating saw to cut down top to bottom of the cross member as close to the frame rails as I could. Then take an angle grinder to take off the rest of the metal you couldn't get to to make it flush against the frame rails. Then finish that up with some black paint to seal things up.

Found a couple pics that give you an idea of what things look like behind there.

So... I decided awhile ago this was going to be the bumper I get. Every once in a while I will check Craigslist to see if there happens to be a deal on one. Well I found on! Brand new, still bare metal. Problem is no shackle tabs. So question is, do I pull the trigger on this? He is asking $500 and is local so no shipping costs or waiting.

You can get one brand new for $530 shipped. So I would talk him down a little and show him $400 cash and see if he will bite. Otherwise grab it for $450.

He won't care much because it is pretty light and really easy to carry!!

Keep in mind if you use the 10% off discount with Morris 4x4 you loose the free shipping. You get one or the other, not both.

I'm glad you had posted pics and I think another forum member too. It gave me a chance to see the fit of a Warn Zeon winch on this bumper. I ordered the Zeon 10-s today. Wooohoo but ouch that was expensive! Just empty every pocket!

Heya Supperfast,

Have you spotted any photos of these on a stock Rubi?

(I noticed yours in your icon, mine is an inbound 2DR same color and wheels)

I'd pull the trigger on this bumper, but I've been looking for one mounted on a stock Rubicon just to see.

Ya know, sometimes those first mods just don't look right unless you're a little lifted with some bigger tires

Always happy to help and pictures really add to the discussion. Did you order the spacer plate for the Zeon from Poison Spyder? My 10-s would not sit all the way down and I had to shim the winch up about 1/8". It is really close and I have seen some say the Zeon fits this bumper and others say it won't without a shim. Just make sure you look closely at the mounting points before you tighten everything down.

Please post some pictures of yours when you get everything installed.

Yeah, I plan on ordering the spacer plates from Poison Spyder. I just need to give them a call because when I put them in my shopping cart and went to check out the shipping was crazy high.

It will still be a while before I get it on. I'm waiting on my rear Ace bumper to get here so I can have the powder coater match the finish. Last I checked I still had 2 - 4 weeks to wait on Ace. Stinks but it should be worth the wait.

Congrats on the new rig.... I haven't seen any pics on a stock rubi but I'm sure it will look BA!
I haven't made up my mind yet on the front bumper there are to many to choose from and weight is a big issue with me because I'm not sure how long it will be till I lift mine.
Post some pics of your jeep when you get it and keep me posted on which bumper you go with
