Poison Spyder Evap Skip install 2012 JKUR

The install of the skid is easy with the exception of the retaining clip on the small dia tube. When I tried to remove the stock retainer, it broke even tho I tried to be as careful as possible removing it.

A quick trip to AutoZone found the following Ford parts, and they worked like a champ. The black 3/8 clip was perfect - I show a white 5/16 in my hand for clarity against the dark background.

It's really, really thin gage steel for one, but more importantly, when a lift is installed, the d'shaft makes contact with the skid. It tears the boot. The PSC skid will protect it and it moves the canister up and over, eliminating the problem.

i dont have a 12 but i doubt its the skid plate that tears the boot.

normally what tears the drive shaft boot is the automatic transmission pan

Also, if you take your time, and work the PS skid around, you can add it without disconnecting anything.

It's definately the Evap Skid that hits:
