Clean it good there was some residue from the welding on it. Not obvious. Do 3 or 4 coats of primer and 3 or 4 coats of paint. If you need any help, give me a holler.

Mine will be here in another week. Now just have to decide on the rear. Ace or PS?

Got the same issue, Ace or Poison Spyder. The poison Spyder is really well built. Looking how it's structured, they definitely over engineered it.

I agree with the PS getting over built but from the ACE stuff I have, I would also say that they over build their products too. The PS is still 500 more than the ACE for the rear with tire carrier. 2 week wait on PS, 4 on ACE. Got the jeep jamboree coming up in May. And that light bar on the ACE is sweeeet.

You can also call Jason. He doesn't have them listed on his site right now but he can order them. I was thinking mine would be here this week but doesn't look like it right now.

this, without a winch (that will come later) is probably a good "first mod" but i'm wondering if you get a bit of front drop on a stocker rubicon due to the extra weight.

i'm sure the standard bumpers are designed like they are for a reason, but i don't much care for them :-)

I ordered my poison spyder and realized I had nowhere to put my front license plate, so now I got a winch. The front drop was more than expected. Last outing I think I hit every rock and tree stump.

Are most aftermarket bumpers missing a spot for the front license plate? I know NY state requires you to have one. That's one of those easy traffic tickets for the police.

I realized this after I ordered my poison spyder bumper. Choices are to drill holes or get a winch. I got a winch, so I could use a fairlead license plate mount.

I like the bumper so much I couldn't see drilling holes. I live in VA and we need a front license plate too.

Below is the setup I ended up with. As alternate, you could get Poison Spyder's winch mount plate, a fairlead and the fairlead license plate mount. Just skip the winch for now.

danrb are those the stock fogs in there or did you replace them with something else? I hate the fact that I will also have to put the front license plate on mine.

Did you just splice them into the factory harness or put it on something like an spod? I was told by ridgid that the duellys would not work with the factory harness? I have the d2s also. Want to use them as fogs too but dont know how to wire them up.

Mine are Dually's. I spliced them into the factory harness and they worked. Flickered like crazy, so I bought an sPod. I don't know about the D2s. I think they draw more power and may cause a problem, but I do remember reading about others that spliced the D2s in. There should be a way to splice them in and use the factory harness for the switch and battery for power. I couldn't find any reference to doing that though.

The Duallys are really bright. They light up everything around me like I'm in a well lit room, can't imagine what the D2s do.

I live in NYC. If you don't do a winch drill 2 holes and bolt it on underneath on the skid. Here is what it will look like.

Ps mine has been on for over a year and no issues with the nypd

^Wow that just gave me a great idea, you can use metal wires and loop it through the license plate screw holes to the skid ovals. Tie it from behind tight and no drilling required.

Great bumper, well worth the money, and powder coating is definitely the way to go, you won't regret it.

That's what I was thinking. The guys at ridgid told me that the jeep harness would not run them right. I guess I will hook them up to the spod when I get everything together. What did you do with the fog light wires? Just tape them up so they couldn't get wet? I guess I will get some regular fogs and put the D2's up on the hood. I have to get a set of ridgids for the ACE pro rear bumper also. Both of them will be the 6in sr light bars and will have to be hooked up to the spod.

The factory fog light switch works fine. The only drawback is they only work on low beam. When you shut off the jeep, they flash randomly for a few minutes, but it's only flashing off a .5 volt signal so you hardly notice, but it looks cool anyway.

Sometimes they flash after starting and sometimes after stopping, without ever tuning them on. I didn't think it was cool, so I got an sPod and now, no flash and they stay on when my high beams are on. My jw speakers flicker, but I'm living with that for now.

Just got the bumper yesterday and brought it to get it powder-coated today.
The bumper and the skid powder-coated only cost $125!

Brawler Mid w/Leds

I took it and had a it Primed with 2K primer, then sprayed spatter paint on it to give it texture, and then I rattle caned it black. Turned out very nice! I also added some leds inside the bumper to give the spider a nice glow after dark!

Does anyone have ideas on a license plate mount? I'm doing the suction cup to the window method as well haha!
