Poor USB Audio Quality

Hello guys,

I am new here and I really like this forum.

I have a question about the USB audio quality. Mine is 2013 Wrangler Unlimited Sport with the connect group. The audio quality for CD and FM/Am are perfect, however, when I plug my iPhone 4S, the audio quality is really poor. My music is from iTunes and CDs, therefore, the quality of them is really good.

Can anyone help me sove this problem? Thank you!

Cool Rip quality?

What quality did you use on ripping songs from source onto your iPhone?

Are you actually plugged in to the USB port in the centre console under the armrest? Or bluetoothing? Or using the USB in the dash?

I've got an iPod in mine plugged in inside the armrest and at 256k AAC rips, the quality is as good as CD.

The "Premium" stereo still sucks, but that's another matter entirely.

Best factory stereo I ever had was a monsoon in a 2000 Jetta - that was awesome. Everything since has sucked.

I am using an iPod Classic that I use in the armrest and they are 256k AAC rips. They sound great. I must admit, I have totally replaced the audio system (all 7 speakers and subwoofer and another amp). Also, the iPod in the armrest worked great before the upgrade of my audio. Since I have so much music, I have created playlists and my 130N HU recognized them.

I'd really suggest using a USB to see if the same songs sound just as bad, then you can determine where the problem is at. I've found using an app for Mac/Win called DoubleTwist I can easily copy playlists from iTunes to a USB drive.
