Possible New 2014 Jeep J8 Scrambler Prototype

Full story:
I Spy: Possible New 2014 Jeep J8 Scrambler Prototype | Morris 4×4 Center Blog

This Jeep Wrangler was recently spied on at Chrysler’s headquarters. The vehicle appears to have the extended wheelbase of the Unlimited, with only two doors. It looks like a Jeep pickup, or a conversion using the Mopar pickup-bed kit with a Jeep Wrangler JK soft top, and it’s possible that it’s a Jeep Wrangler pickup (or Jeep Scrambler) prototype. The military J8 has leaf springs in the rear. Although it would be a great idea to offer the 2dr LWB to the public, I doubt they will.

Funny a coworker was just saying yesterday he wished they'd put one out. He's in love with the unlimited TJ one of the guys here at work has. They didn't make many of those.

I'd like it even more if they made it more retro.

See the Mirrored windows on the building in the background?
My office is in there, I drive past that corner every morning heading to the parking garage. There's a few dozen of them sitting there. It's the Egyptian J8. (notice the intake)

I don't know why we dont throw that top on with the Body side sheetmetal for here.
If you look inside the body side inner has the rear door jamb, its just the outer skin that is replaced. Probably has to do with side impact, there is no structure to protect second row seating.

Nothing new here. It's a standard J8 right down to the breather housing bump on the hood....

I like this Cargo Carrier J8 they have on that website Duramaxxed posted. This would be perfect for camping.

I like this one from this site:
(they say it's not marketable in the US because it lacks "creature comforts" )

Wow, didn't know about those. Awesome look, it does remind me of my Scrambler a little bit. I wish they offered those here.

Out of curiosity, I see a few posters are salivating over the rear leaf springs. What is the advantage of the leaf spring over coils?

Those are practical reasons, indeed. Thanks for the explanation.
