Post your pictures of 33's on 16-17" wheels

Would appreciate it if I could get some pictures of your 16 or 17 inch wheel on a 33 inch tire. Any opinions on if a 17 inch wheel is too much for a 33 inch tire?

IMO, yes but you will be set up for 35's or 37's in the future. There are way more rubber options for 17's. Additionally 15's have a quite a bit more of rubber options than 16's. Look at 15" wheels, tires will be cheaper too.

I'm not really understanding the difference between a 33.12.50-R15 and 33.12.50-R17. Does the R17 tire make any physical appearance difference on the actual size of the tire?

The 15" wheel/tire combo in a 33x12.5 will have more sidewall than the 17"

You will have less sidewall with a 17" wheel but the overall diameter is the same.

So basically the center of the tire is just cut out more to fit a larger wheel?

My 285/70/17 Goodyear MT/R w/Kevlar were actually closer to 33's then my new 33X12.5X15 by a 1/2"

I like 285/70R17s on JKs, but the sidewall can be a little short:

Big perk to 15s is the weight savings

Keep the pictures coming... looks great. I think I'm going to stick with the Mickey Thompson 17x9 Classic II wheels in black on 33-12.5-R17. Like Daniel said, in the future I could always throw some 35's on that 17 inch wheel.

If I had it all to do again, I would go with 16's. Great tire choices, Cheaper then 17's in most tires, Still get a little extra side wall for air downs and looks great with 33's and 35's

It is a great size for versatility.

Just got build done

AEV 2.5" lift with AEV's Savegre wheels 17x8.5. On that I put BFG 305/70R17 which measure about 33.9"

But looking for 37's is a nightmare I am currently in right now. For 17's most every tire manufacturer makes a 37" tire but not so much for 16's.
