Does anyone know the best product/way to touchup black powdercoat? Got a warn bumper and it has scratches on it out of the box

Thanks!

I spray some Rustoleum in a cup and dab it in the scratches with a small paint brush.

Depends on the powdercoat texture. Rustoleum product for sure, a finish that matches powdercoat, either matte, satin, or gloss, and paint or bedliner......

Wow, that is seriously shitty finish. Not busting your stones, but if the powdercoat came off in shipping, that is not cool.

Don't know about the OP, but I had my bumper shipped to my house:

They had good support inside and cardboard all around it:

But you may have noticed that a point of the bumper came thought the cardboard (on the right) and wore off a small portion of the powder coating:

I just touched it up with Rustoleum.

Not too bad (not close to joe002). It's not even in a really noticable place but it's new.... i know it will get messed up once i go out wheeling.
So the rusoleum matched pretty well?

Yeah, I typically have flat, semi-gloss, and gloss in the garage, and I think I typically use the semi-gloss black. If you spray some paint in a paper cup and just dab a little in an inconspicuous place you can compare the colors when they dry.

I had the same issue with my LoD sliders. Next time I would order bare metal and have them coated locally. Not a huge deal but I was a little put off when they advised the solution was to go by a can of paint and touch it up I mean I paid an extra $98 over the $675 cost for special powdercoat so that I could go by a $7 can of paint to touch them up before install

I am going to sound like a broken record, but head down to home depot. Got to the spray paint isle. You will see a product called PLASTI-DIP. DO NOT get the spray can. Get the can that looks like the Pillsbury dough tubes. Go to the paint department, and get a small brush, and a few stir sticks. Go home, wipe the chip down with alcohol, and then carefully apply the plasti-dip with the brush. You will need to put on as many coats as you can, to level out with the original powdercoat. If done with care and patience, your results will be almost impossible to see. I did this exact thing, for the same exact reason as you 2 weeks ago, with excellent results. I have had 4 weeks of freezing temps, salt, rain, and washing car, and no sign of damage.
