Power lock acctuator?

I was relocating my license plate today and while running the wireing through the tailgate I saw this behind the vent. It looks to me like a actuator for power locks, even was wired up.......but I dont have power locks in my 09 X. If so I'll have to open up my doors to see if they have this also.

I saw it and just seemed odd....so is that what this is? Sorry for the crappy phone picture.

I find it odd that it's there though, my Jeep doesnt have power locks. But now I guess it does, just doesnt have the switch. Hmmmm

Anybody know how toremove the manual window crank? I wanna see if the doors have one too.

I think it is the standard latch and I believe that the light switch is built in hence the wiring. I am not sure but that would make sense.

I know Pepboys has a special tool to remove the window cranks. There is a little snap ring that holds it onto the shaft, you can get it without the tool but if i'm not mistaken it was only a couple bucks and will make it pretty easy.

I agree. That's not power, it's just the signal that tells the Jeep that the tailgate is open/closed.
