Power Lock issue on a 2007 Wrangler (Door panel switch)

The power door lock switches on both front doors have stopped working. The remote door lock from the keyfob works just fine, so I know it's not the fuse or the solenoid.

I also have a problem that if I let my Jeep sit for a day or so, the battery goes dead. (New battery & alternator checks out OK) Disconnected the winch & KC lights to make sure they were not draining the battery.

I took it to my dealership and they wanted to tell me that it was my door locks draining the battery and they needed to change out the Fuse module at the nice price of $698! Of course they could not be for sure that would fix it until they tried it and I was out $698!

Has anyone heard of these problems or know of a way I can trouble shoot it myself?

Again, they Keyfob locks & unlocks the doors fine. Neither door lock switch works. I have pulled off door panel and checked connections. Once in a while the doors will unlock while driving down the road all on their own!

thanks in advance!!
Randy

Question

subscribing to this thread.

I have an 08 and the locks stop working at times. Sometimes they all work as planned from the remote and sometimes only the driver's side door will work. If they stop working they can't be unlocked from the remote or from the controls in the car, must be manually unlocked. Very frustrating. Hopefully someone will have an answer. My connections all look good.

My '07 JK had a similar problem today where the remote will activate the alarm but the doors will not lock or unlock. I found a burnt fuse and replaced it. It burned as soon as I put the new one in. Is there a relay that could be fried causing the fuse to burn?
