Powertrain Warranty

I have an 08 sahara that I had a 39 mo lease on. When I went to roll the lease over I was told the"lifetime" warranty was not such. Once the vehicle title changes hands the warranty become void even if the same person ownes it both times. Dealer tried multiple times to explain to regional manager but no luck. So in essence, the only person able to maybe use it would be those that paid cash - no financing allowed-and did their 5 yr checks. Looks like the lawyers are the only ones getting anything out of the worthless lifetime warranty. Going to draft a letter and try that method too. Anybody else have success keeping their L.T. warranty?

The lease would not qualify as it is titled in the name of the leasing company with you as the "agent" Financing is different as it is titled in the eventuial owner.

Exactly. When you finance the title is in your name but there is a lien attached.

both are correct, easiest way to look at it is the bank that you leased the car thru owns the car, thus you are technically the 2nd owner. Just so you know if you wanted to, you can still purchase the lifetime powertrain warranty. Not sure if it's worth it though. Depends on you, how long you plan on owning it, etc.
