Pricing with lift

Guys, I am thinking of selling my jeep. Sad sad day! We are adding one to the family soon and need to prepare.

My question. How do you price for add on's when selling a jeep? I have over $5k in lift, wheels, tires, etc. Plus another $2k in add ons like extra soft top windows, locking security trunk, roof rack, nav, ect. My jeep is a 2011 sport manual trans without power anything and 41k miles. KBB has it at $18k as is.

Any suggestion how to price would be appreciated!!!

Cheers

Ash

You would expect a fraction back for the lift, wheels, and tires. Basically nothing for any other mods.

So Nothing back for the Tuffy security deck, and the OEM Nav? You think it's better to sell them separately?

Personally I'd prefer to buy a used Jeep stock and do my own mods.

With that said I think 18K would be a serious lowball offer.
Dealer gave me 18,500 on my 07 2 door X with 53,000 miles in the dead of winter.

Spare soft top and factory navigation system is definitely a plus.
Lift and tires might get you another grand. Impossible remove without the stock parts anyway.

JK's have very high resale value so ignore KBB, NADA and the like.
See what dealers are asking for same year/model and take your price down a bit.

Auto Trader is a good resource. People from all over can easily find it and compare it to similar Jeeps. Craigslist seems to attract some real weirdo's. Ok for used parts but I avoid it with high dollars items.

Be willing to haggle a little but also prepare to just say "no thanks, take care" and let them come crawling back 2 days later if they really want it.

Sell it for with the market in your region will bear. JK's are always thousands over bluebook in the PNW, no idea why. They just are.

Summer is getting close so great time of year to sell a 4x4 convertible with low miles.

Sorry to hear your moving on, good luck.

Thanks for the info! I may just keep it and sell my wives mini and get something more appropriate and convince her that the jeep will be good for the winter. "See how helpful it was this winter, we were able to get around with no problems. Imgine if we have to rush to the hospital." Hope that works!!

That's why we bought a JKU, coincidently we unloaded my wife's mini for it... I have had 5 two door wranglers, loved them all but with two small dogs and a kid the only ... wrangler I'll have is an unlimited..... Oh and most mods really aren't worth anything I have always had better luck taking it back to stock and getting what I can for the add ons separately.... As someone else stated buyers prefer a basically unmolested stocker unless you get a jeep junkie that knows what you have.

Research what is for sale right now and research the worth on KBB. Between KBB and what is for sale in your area will give you a good idea of what market value is, regardless of add-ons.

Pull the mods off it, trade it for a 4 door, and put the mods on the new one. You could even swap the suspension over if you can afford to carry both vehicles for a while.
