Problem w/tube doors and OEM mirrors

I'm trying to mount some OEM replica mirrors to my Bestop Element doors and the mounting pins/arms seem to be way too long, and since they are internally threaded I don't see an easy way to mount and tighten a backing plate. Time to try another set of mirrors?Name: DSCF0202[1].JPG

I wanna say a little duct tape will fix you right up...but, in reality, it's lookin mighty bleak.

I bought the mirrors that went with my Body Armor doors, and they've been fine (after I added some convex stick-ons to em). After shopping around, grabbed em off Amazon for cheap.

Problem solved with a call to Bestop- I need mirror brackets, were not included with my used Element doors.

Yep. The bracket looks like a round metal cup. I bought my doors used too- when the guy handed them to me I thought he'd been smoking something.

The cup is pictured here for anyone that may find this thread down the road.

Couple more shots showing OEM replica mirrors mounted up to my Bestop Element doors.

I have rugged ridge tube doors. Same idea. My first set came with the "cups" however the plate with the holes for the mirror was welded 90 degrees incorrect!! -horizontal! Someone was smoking some wacky stuff that day! Glad you're all fixed up. Love the tube doors! Makes me feel legal and safe(er)

hmm... wondering why I didn't see 3 pre-drilled holes in your pictures. My Bestop element doors for JK can also take the 2003-06 TJ mirrors which I'm using. It doesn't need the bracket and has 3 pre-drilled holes for it.

Using the TJ mirrors, you won't have things stick out like that or might be they have changed the current batch of element doors.

The newer Bestop Element doors do indeed have those 3 smaller mounting holes as an option.
