Problem with Warn Xp-s

I just picked up my 12 JKU with and AEV front bumper and a Warn xp-s installed. First time messing with winches so it's all new...

1. Clutch engage/free "handle" doesn't want to go to the free spool position. I did release any tension and the winch works otherwise.

2. When I looked things over at pick-up there were two bolts sticking down from the control box towards the reel. I was told they were the ones that came with the winch. I had mentioned it to the folks as being close and something that needed to be adjusted.

I should have waited but in my infinite "wisdom" I wanted to pull the line and check it out . What ended up happening is the line catching the bottom of the bolts and rubbing/bunching up the line. I've decided I'll be getting a new line.

I'll be talking to the shop (They do alot of installs and after talking to them felt good with them doing the work).

So with that background my real question is...

Anybody had issues with the reel engage/free spool movement not working? I looked through the manual and didn't see any other requirements other than taking off the slack then just move it to the free spool position. Just not putting enough force on it to get past the the mid-position?
