Problems attaching the front windshield bar of the Trektop (not NX)

I've had the Bestop Trektop (non NX) for several months and have been relatively happy with it.

One problem I have run into is that even after having it for several months it is impossible to attach the top to the windshield mount unless the top is nice and hot.

This morning I drove in to work with the top down. The temp was 75 degrees. After I got to work I could not get the top pulled far enough forward to engage the two attachment handles that connect it to the windshield. I had to go back out at noon when it warmed up and attach it then.

Two questions, Does anyone else have the non-NX Trek top and have you had this problem?

I know that the top has to be warmed up for the initial install, but I would think by this time I wouldn't have this much of an issue.

The only time it was tough for me to get the header bar attached was when it was new. With my left hand, I push the header forward while trying to thread the screw with my right hand. Some days it is harder than others, but I can usually get it on. Might become a real pain once it is autumn here in MN, but that is when the hard top goes back on.

BTW, do you have a lot of wind noise coming from the front driver side corner? Did you solve it with some foam tape?

My stock TJ top is similar. If its cold out it fights me the whole way, if its 75+ or has been sitting in the sun all day it goes on fine.

Heres what I do, attach the windshield first (but don't tighten the latches!), then strech however it is held down in the back down to secure it, then finish the latches in the front. I find there is a lot more play and it makes it easier that way.
