Problems playing mp3 discs?

Good morning all,

I have a 2007 4 door with the media center that plays the MP3 discs and has satetelite radio. Since I have had it I am unable to get MP3 discs and 50% of the time justa burned audio CD.

For the normal audio CD I have burned it at different speeds, (typically slowest is best) Every once in awhile I can get a burned CD to play but the rest of the time it sits there for 3-5 minutes trying to read it before spitting it back out.

With the MP3 discs I have wasted a multitude of blank cd's trying to burn a disc that could be read. Since the manual for the jeep/radio both state that it can play WMA and MP3 I converted all 33GB of my music to MP3 and into the best bit rate/sample rate as stated in the manual (I think 192/48K). The first time I just dropped folders with subfolders and un modified song titles. When this didn't work I put all of the songs directly onto a disc with no folders/subfolders without success. So then just for a trial I renamed all songs with one word song titles and placed them directly onto the disc with no subfolders as I thought perhaps the song titles were too long OR may have had special characters that it did not recognize. Of course this did not work.

Each time I burn the disc I finalize it so that it can be played. I have tried all MP3, I have tried all WMA files and have tried to burn them at the slowest possible speed as well. At this time I have not been able to burn an MP3 disc that could be read. I have not tried to burn with a different type of CD at this time...

Anyone else have any problems with this? Anyone know of a solution?

The only issue I have had was using a DVD (REQ). It will play the retail DVDs fine but a burned one no... make sure you are using the right media format: Supported formats are: CDDA, CD-R, CD-RW, MP3,WMA, DVD Video, DVD-R, DVD-RW, DVD+R, DVD+RW, and CDDA+MP3

solved!

Problem turned out to be the burner I was using. I used a laptop with a different type of burner with the same files and same discs and it works just fine. Saved my relationship with the jeep as there is a lot of frustration sitting there the whole way home from work scanning stations trying to find something to listen to...

Good To Hear! I've got a 2010 Jk & ALL my Cd's are burned! This way if they get stollen, it's no big deal.
