Problems with NAVTOOL

Problems with NAVTOOL

April 1 I purchased from NAVTOOL the video backup camera unit, after waiting two weeks I finally got it and in the box there were three items.

I was unable to get it to work, (there were no instructions in the box) so I called many times they keep giving me things to try but they were unable to get it to work as well, that took a month back and forth emails and calls, VERY POOR customer service. They would put me on hold 20-40 min at a time, very hard to have a conversation with them only wanting to keep the conversation short when I did get a chance to talk.

Finally George at Navtool reluctantly had me to send it back after much pressure on my part to give up on this and purchase one from a reputable company, MyGig LockPick, but George gave me the wrong address to send it to and it came back to me, $16.00 for shipping now two times out of my account. After spending another week (getting in touch with George) I finally got the right address and sent the three items back, I sent it insured with signature required.

My wife called them two times a week and listen to there “stories” about why they have not given me my refund. After a month and one half of waiting and checking my account weekly I finally call and pretended to be a dealer for purchasing 30 items to my surprise I got right through and was able to talk to George with no problem at all, but I wanted to talk to the owner, not the “lakie” he did transfer me and the first thing I asked was
“can you tell me why you have not given me my refund?” After all that he put me on hold when he came back he also made up some excuse and refused to give me my refund back claiming that I did not ship “all the items back” all I can say is it could be that they did not ship all the items to me and that is why it never worked.

The worst customer service EVER, My wife is a customer service rep for the last twelve years and has never had anyone this bad to deal with.

I checked them out on the BBB and found that they have a “F” rating I am not surprised

Buyer be-ware .

PS the new lockpick worked fine in about 1 hr after purchase and the service is what you would expect it to be. Top notch.

I went through exactly the same thing you have been through with Navtool. I posted it on here a while back. To repeat. My CC was hit immediately for the charges. A week later I hadn't received anything. I called them & they claimed I didn't provide a complete address. Bull SH**T. I finally received a "kit" that was incomplete and after numerous e-mails, none of which were answered, and numerous phone calls none of which helped, I gave up. Luckily, later on, on one phone call I was able to get an address on where to return the "kit". I did this & got a signed receipt that they had received it. I spent another six weeks of unanswered e-mails and phone calls that went no where trying to get my refund. I finally disputed the charge with my CC company & the charge was promptly credited to my account. So far I haven't heard anything more. My CC company said they consider the matter closed. And yes you cannot beat LockPick. Quick simple install & works perfectly......

If you paid with a Credit Card call them and put the charge into dispute. Business hate this as they money gets taken from them and it can raise their CC processing fees or they can lose their merchant account. There is a process for each CC company, but the CC company wants to keep you as a customer.

I know bunch of people that use navtool for years no issues, prior to navtool i got lockpick that tripped my airbag light everytime i tried using it. I still wanted camera and ability to use rear camera while driving, after days of research i've learned that navtool is made by the same people that worked on many OEM nav systems and that made me confident to buy one, it works as promised since day one.

I use a local credit union DCU. I have been with them for 15 years, I have a very good track record with them and I have never (until now) got them involved with any purchase I have made.

They informed my wife that all the banks do the same thing and can only reverse it if you used a CC not a Debit card.

We also had a great paper trail we could prove what we were saying through it.

I would say if you were one of the "Lucky" ones that got one that worked properly then all is well with you and you didn’t have the pleasure of dealing with the worst company on the internet. What ever you do don’t try to send it back for any reason.

As far as I am concerned they are a bunch of THEVES for not giving me my money back and LIRES for pretending they will or will not.

I dont believe they got an "F" Rating from the BBB because “dealing with them was a great experience”. You happened to "Luck out".

I believe it was because the treated customers like trash.

I was one of them. And I believe there are many others out there as well.

You have to be pretty bad to get that rating.

well the only thing I can say that I wouldn't trust BBB plus I looked it up and it says

it says it not been rated or BBB does not have sufficient background information on this business

Well, crap! I ordered one around noon today and then saw this thread. Just called them a few minutes ago and they claim it has already shipped out. I'm willing to roll the dice on $100 but for the cost of this, don't want to risk having the headaches others have had. As soon as it arrives will just return it without opening

I have been following this post for a while, and it seems to be very strange. I have navtool on my Jeep, I have been to various Jeep meets and seen few dozen people on each meet that use navtool for video in motion camera etc. We have one person here that is unhappy about something, actually person that never even installed navtool in his car, and we have all this stress here. I have previously installed competitors products that is very popular on this forum and all it was doing is tripping my airbag light, and not only mine. So before I purchased NavTool i was skeptical, I have called NavTool and asked all relevant question, and one thing I leaned that unit designed in USA by automotive engineers will never trip airbag or any other light in the car.

Dont listen to no one, Im very adventurous and hands on. I got my son 2012 wrangler for HS graduation as he is going away to college I wanted him to have a nice car. I love made in USA products and have heard about NavTool while researching this forum about jeep wrangler ,as this is my sons car of choice. To make real long story short, this forum thread made me buy NavTool and experience it all first hand. I knew that I always was handy so I decided that I will install it myself, well it didnt go as smooth as I have planned, first I had no clue how to take the radio out so I called NavTool and guess what got an answer my first try, they helped me and from there I already knew what to do as rest is easy all plug and play.

The moral of the story is that dont deprive yourself of a good product just because one person couldnt get it work. How many people are unhappy with iPhone and they still keep using it, I hate my iPhone it freezes all the time, would I ever switch to android? Never

P.S. Prior to purchase I called NavTool and asked about a products, I was told that every unit is tested right before shipping this will guarantee me that I will receive a 100% working product, and I did, just overall research makes me believe that in USA more people prefer NavTool versus competition. So buy the products and enjoy real America quality, its a high quality product.

I used to own a small business and had encounters with BBB, if you read BBB on navtool it clearly says they dont have enough data to rate, besides i don't trust any online reviews i know of local pizzeria that wrote letters to BBB and left bad review on yelp for next block competitors

They are so full of "BS" It took anyone over a week to get thers shipped out.

Thats what they told me. Mine came in two and one half weeks.

And so it has started with you. The BS goes on and on everytime you contact them.

Lets see if it will really be at your door in a coupple of days, please inform us on your progress.

Will do. I paid for two day shipping so plan on calling them tomorrow to get the tracking info, technically since they claim it was shipped yesterday, it should arrive tomorrow

Ok, thought I would add an update. I called them this morning asking for the tracking number since when I called previously I was told it had shipped. After getting a person on the line and asking for the tracking info I was put on hold for 32 minutes. Fortunately, I had work to do at my desk so just left the speaker phone on. Guy gets back on the line, he says that it hasn't shipped. I tell him to cancel, then put on hold again. Sooo, another 15 minutes go by and he says that it's cancelled. I politely say that I expect the paypal transaction to be reversed, he says will happen today (kicking myself in the rear end for not using my Amex). The transaction has not been cancelled on their end and after reading some other posts on here, I inititated a claim on Paypal.
Guys, I know that I'm new on here and don't carry the same clout as some long standing members but I advise to not do business with these guys. I can handle that for some, these things work as advertised and others have had problems. I would be willing to accept that and try the product out to see if it could work for me. What I can't stand is some of the worst customer service (others have had it far worse than me) imaginable. I believe that they intentionally lied about the shipping. I believe that they intentionally lie to others. That's not a leap that I easily make.

Final update. I initiated the claim, came here to post the message above and then checked my email. They did get notice of my claim because I received email from Paypal stating "case closed, refund received". For those that have this and it works great, I'm a bit jealous! For those that are having problems dealing with them, well, best of luck.
