Problems with Truck Lites?

Hey everyone -

This week I installed a new set of Trucklites in my 13 JKUR.

Almost immediately, I was warned via the EVIC that I lost a rear turn signal and a right turn signal.

When I restarted the Jeep, the error resolved and they worked. But now this happens often.

Yesterday I lost a front DS marker lamp.

Last night, my rear DS tail light blew.

Keep in mind my 13 only has 900 miles on it, and I have had it one week.

My gut says its the new headlights, but I can't find anything other than a flicker being a problem with these.

Any ideas?

I have had no problems with my 2012 with TruckLites and I have had them in for a couple months.

I am not sure if I should have the dealer look at it as is....will they void my electrical system/warranty?

Or should I swap in the factory lights and take it in?

well, does the problem go away when the trucklites are removed and replaced with the stock halogen housings and bulbs?

That would be my first troubleshooting step along with disco'ing the battery for a bit to reset things.

If you still have the problem with the stock hardware, then by all means take it in since YOU ruled out its the trucklites.

Definitely take off the lights temporarily before you bring it in. Don't want to deal with any hassle from the dealer--especially since electrical gremlins can be a pain.

I have 9000 miles now on my truck lites on my 2013 and no issues. I would do as stated above and put the stock ones in and see if the problem still exits if it does take it in with the stock headlights.

If the issue goes away, return the lights and pigtails for a complete set of new ones.

I was hoping you guys weren't going to say this. I "theft proofed" my trucklites with a lot of electrical tape and zip ties. Great. LOL

So, I purchased two new bulbs today for this issue. Replaced, and the marker lights both on the DS are toast. Bulb works for the turn signal.

Made a dealer appointment for tomorrow (which means pulling the TLs and reinstalling the stocks). Great.

Will keep you updated.

So the dealer inspected the Jeep yesterday and found 2 15 amp mini fuses that had blown. Replaced, and are working.

I will be reinstalling the Truck-lites today and see if the fuses hold.

Will keep you posted!
