In design stage of a new front bumper, with lowered winch mount. Provision for skid plate also

Interest in mid width design with optional extensions.
Interested in pros cons of existing high end bumpers from owners.

3/16 plate steel. I cut on plasma table, cut with tabs to make bendable without brake. Bent will weld.

This is first version, I was thinking just JK or JKU in one side, and tapering the skid plate (which has a 8" plate below the slotted section) a tad narrower.

My goal is to fab up a precut hand bendable kit, for people with a welder to make their own. I will offer different designs on the upper and mid sections.
These sections are slotted and tabbed so you can bend the metal on a 4x4 wood or corner of brick wall, then weld in gussets. And then weld slots closed.

Nice! Other than the cut outs, it's nearly the same design I built. I used a break, though.

Do you plan to fill the bends, or add end caps?

Yes bend slot will be just a cut, then welded and ground rounded. The ends will get capped, and thinking of a stubby on ends. I like the narrow profile though.

Wish I had a break to bend 3/16" hot rolled! I am just slitting the next instead of cutting a 1/8 slot. Less welding. Lesson learned.

After cutting what I wanted, I took mine to a fab shop and showed them where I wanted my breaks, and what angle. 10 mins I was out the door for $20. Money well spent! This is right before it went to powdercoating...

If you really want lettering, just "JEEP" will look good.

Still need to make D-Ring brackets.
Also considering a stinger or light bar.

BTW, off thread, I bought a new torque wrench today, a Kolbalt 1/2" 50-250, it is a VERY HIGH QUALITY TOOL for $55 at Lowes, the shelf tag and register said $55, but the box had a $99 sticker. I would have even paid $99 for the high quality this wrench is. I was very surprised and happy! Most brand name in this range 200+
