Project JKU Rubicon X White - Want/Build

Hopefully, this is THE thread for Rubicon X enthusiasts. Chime in!

Rubicon X Package (24J)
White
5 Speed Auto
A/C Temp Control
Max Tow
Smoker (just wanted the extra outlet and tray for coins)
Have a few days to consider the side airbag. Yes or no?

1. Ordered 11/01/2014

2. Waiting on the email for the ordering info

3. Project

A. Lift 2-4.5 inch (lowest to fit wheels is better). Maybe AEV 2.5 kit??
B. Wheels 37s or 38s and perhaps 16s but maybe brake disk fitting probs??
Preferred a wide with lots of rubber profile. No chrome/shiny rims for me
Anyone with pics of tires/wheel with fat rubber profile, show me?

It's a 4-6 weeks wait time according to the dealer. So, got about that long to find the right set up.

Background info - Yes. It's primarily street use but plan to make time to wander out to trails. Also, partly for company/marketing purposes. Crawling is a new thing as I grew up in Florida. Think swamps versus rocks. As a matter of fact, not sure if I've ever seen a rock in Florida. Some more background info, my first car was a 68 Camaro w/327. Bought a $300 pistons/cams kit from Hot Rod magazine and rebuilt the engine in the back yard with a Chilton manual and a friend. When done, we had 4 bolts left over and it was one of the fastest around. But those were the good old days.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!

I'm guessing you'll have more than 4-6 to find your setup ..... . But start buying stuff now it helps with the wait

If using as a daily driver i wouldnt go with a 12.5 width tire. I had them on my Sahara and they looked nice but they rode bad. It was harder to control , they would find every rut and groove in the highway. I just picked up my X on saturday and will run stick tires until they are worn.

Welcome to the forum. I'm waiting for my white JKUR, no-x to come in. Hopefully next week. Like machz said, it will be closer to 6-8 weeks. 37s wll be tough with a 2.5 lift unless you add a body lift to it. Did you get 4.10 gear in it? Happy waiting!!

About the smoker group, I guess the coin tray will do.

AEV advertised that their 2.5 lift will work for the 37s. I had even called them and the parts guy said yes.

Count on later than quoted delivery time. The holidays drag everything out.

37's with a 2.5 inch lift? It may fit for driving around town, but what about articulation? Don't trust an unknown voice on the telephone when spending your hard earned cash.

I'll probably go with 35s though. It seems to be more popular.

So, I am looking at the super swamper irok radials. Any suggestions?

And thanks everyone for chiming in.

The picture links of a jku with 38s. It looks great. Not too big. Not too smal. Just right.
