I've had my 2013 JK for about 6 months now and loving every minute I get to spend with her. I'm confident you'll have no regrets!

Nice!!! I'm also looking at buying a new jeep... I really like the black but there is no way I can keep the paint looking that good... I need something that doesn't show scratches very good

first order of business is to drive to the tire shop and get those tires and wheels taken care of. Not sure where you live but if you have Les Schwabb tire stores in your area I would talk to them. They gave me a great trade-in on my 16 steelie take offs.

Baby steps.......fixed income makes upgrades tough......but I will look into it.
Im not planning on much for mods, but that one is for sure top of the list.
Happy this one came with 3.73 gears.......at least the window sticker says so.

3.73 gears is a great start! My first mod would also be wheels, but you can still have a hell of a lot of fun with her just as she is! When you are ready look at Discount Tire Direct. Excellent prices on wheels and tires.

As long as we are on the subject.
Considering a stock sport how big can I safely go with tires and not bind things up?
of coarse 3.73 helps with tire size, and I don't see it getting lifted at all......aside from a body lift if that.

Rather than a body lift I'd watch for some rubicon take offs from a 4 door or even better some 10th anniversary 4 door take offs. You'd get somewhere between 1 and 2 inches of lift pretty cheap that way. Maybe even more since yours is a 2 door. Then you'd I think be good for 33s.

I run 285/75-16 (~33")on 16X8 rims with 4.5" backspace and that is about the limit. They do not rub when connected but will when disconnected.

Congrats on your new rig. Sounds like your wallet needs a little time to recover, I know mine did. Just drive it and enjoy it. Keep reading here and figure out your next move. Good things take time. Just enjoy your purchase and have fun with it, get to know it.

I got a set of rubicon take offs on my stock 13 JK sport. If you like them it will definitely save you some money. I love how mine is now.

Congrats on the new ride

Congrats! I'm still buzzing from buying my first Jeep last week. I have lots of future plans but a light wallet right now. Simply enjoying every minute of driving on and off road. I live on dirt roads so my DD tastes dirt daily!

There are lots of Jeep wheels and tires for sale on Craigslist or even on this forum. Some are excellent buys over what you'd spend at a tire store. I'd check there first.
