I am confused a bit, over the various sound/audio systems that are available on the Wrangler.
The options are ... · Uconnect 430N · Uconnect 730N · Connectivity Group, which adds Uconnect Voice command
Adding the Connectivity Group to either the 430N or the 730N adds what additional features?
The 430N says it has Garmin navigation. The 730N makes no specific mention of Garmin. Does that mean the pricier 730N doesn’t use the “better” Garmin navigation?
Other amp power, what are the differences between the 430N and the 730N?
I have the base package, so I am not certain first hand. However, the Jeep website has a good resource for it. It states both the higher end packages do have Nav.
The 730N has navigation by Harman.
The 430N has navigation by Garmin.
The 730N has dead reckoning.
The 430N does not.
Dead reckoning allows the unit to continue to navigate even when the GPS signal might have been temporary lost (urban canyons, tunnels).
The 730N comes with Voice Command.
The 430N one needs to add the Connectively Group to have Voice Command.
Seems neither one comes with a way to talk to the GPS and tell it a destination and it find it.. I have the 430 I think the nav is blurry and sucks.. And if I use voice commands to dial a # on the phone it hasn't worked yet, not even close to what I asked.. I had a 2002 Grand Cherokee and I loved that nav.. I'm thinking it might have been the 730 but not sure.. But I could talk to it and it would find the address ( not well but at least it was an option)
I would not say the Garmin is a better navigation, it is just more robust on the way it looks.
Here are the differences besides how does the navigation look and who makes it.
430N has the speed displayed, however it is tied into the canibus so it is not coming from the satellites like normal Garmin devices. The 430N does not have or offer traffic services.
730N does not display the speed, but if you have a 2014 you can have the digital speed displayed on the info center. The 730N has sirius traffic that comes with a year subscription from the factory and after that you can pay to keep it going.
Honestly once you get use to either system they both work well. If you want the more robust graphics and do not need traffic go with the 430N. If you want more features and traffic alerts go with the 730N. The cost is not really that much more because you do not have to purchase the whole connectivity group with the 730N since it has certain modules built in already that the 430N does not
You can with the 730N tell it to find a destination.

I'm trading in my 2013 Jeep Sahara, which had the 730N, for a 2015 that has a 430N. I don't care for the Navigation/Traffic/GPS and the screens it has. The 730N has a couple of different screen options for traveling. I want to put a 730N in the 2015. How can I do this thru the dealer??? I am being told they use different software and it cannot be done. That can't be right.
It CAN be done, Suzie. The dealer will charge you an arm and a leg for a new 730 though. Try to work it in to your deal that they will swap your existing 730 for the 430 and have them include the cost of flashing the computer to read the new head unit as part of your deal. They have to change the information in the jeep's computer using their STARSCAN tool. I don't believe there is an aftermarket option that will do it, but I could be mistaken.
I believe the 730 can be swapped from a 430 without any dealer flashing. The sales codes are already added if the 430 has the uconnect hands free module. The only thing different is the uconnect hands free is built in to the 730 and the 430 has a separate module. The mic for the uconnect would need to be changed as it plugs into the module's harness instead of the radio like the 730. I think Mopar has a mic just for this. It's odd that the dealer doesn't seem to want to help.
