Quadratec - Problems?

I have spent my fair share of money using Quadratec and never have had any issues until lately.

I ordered a AEV (Painted )hood through them on Dec 6 2010. The hood showed up sometime after the holidays and turned out to be damaged. Another hood was sent which arrived and was the wrong color (Mid January/Feb 2011). Not only that the parts (Nuts and mesh grilles) were just tossed in the box not wrapped or protected. So back on the phone with Quadratec and they seemed genuinely concerned and upset. They kept telling me how they were going to compensate me for my trouble etc. After going over a couple of scenarios with them we decided that they would compensate me for my troubles and reimburse me the amount for the paint. Which would mean I would take that money to get it painted locally. As luck would have it the body shop noticed the hood was damaged but was able to fix it. Back on the phone to let Quadratec know at which they kept talking compensation for my trouble. To add to the problems there were not even enough nuts to attach the mesh grilles to the hood.

I even discussed that the compensation did not have to be money but in store credit. This is a win-win situation for us both. That way they know the money would be dropped back into company.

So here it is March 2011...No compensation as of yet and I can't even get the guy to return my phone calls or emails.

That would be frustrating. Would it do any good to call another rep, or speak with a manager? I would constantly be contacting them until things got sorted out. Good luck with your pursuit

Not the first, second, or third time I read about problems with them. Sorry for your trouble.

Just ordered form 4WD. AWESOME service and my parts arrived way early. I've heard nothing but horror stories about the big "Q" so I won't be giving them any of my business if I don't have to.

The only way to actually get any contact is through their online chat in which he said the rep would call me shortly. I did get his supervisors name and number but I am willing to wait a hour or so before playing that card.

Never had a problem with Quadratec

The only thing I didn't like was when I ordered two painted D rings - big ones, it came to something like 50 dollars for the pair. When they arrived, they were pitted from banging around in the box. Now, I understand it's a D ring, but they should be perfect brand new. They were not wrapped, just thrown in with a catalog.

The answer from Q was that they buy them by the pallet, unwrapped, and they all look that way ... hmmmm whatever, a quick shot of red enamel was the fix. But seriously, shouldn't they at least be protected and wrapped when shipped?

Oh well - the rest of my purchases were fast and flawless and I really have no major complaint

I completely agree. I almost always take a look for something I want on quadratec, but then I check 4WD for the same product and can usually find it for cheaper. Plus if you have a local store like I do, then you will never have to pay for shipping for your jeep stuff, where quadratec normally screws you with high shipping costs.
