all in all, i'm a very happy Quadratec customer. have been for a long time.
Not sure if you are addressing me by mistake, becuase all I did was agree with "Joe". I never addressed this issue with you, nor did I say you were slamming Q-tec's winch?

Which bumper is it? We've tested it on almost every production bumper we could without an issue, but obviously we can't test them all!

I havent really heard any negative experiences from anyone……. Just opinions. To me this sounds like a great way to get a winch on your jeep for cheap. FOr the average jeeper who may use it a couple times a year this seems like the brand to get.

There are tons of uses for a winch that arent just related to vehicle recovery. Ive used my winch to pull out bushes in my yard,, i even hooked it up to a plow anchor from my boat to trowel my wifes garden.

very good point... i guess thats why i go back and forth with my decision.. and why i don't have one yet i know i'll probably use it a couple times a month... could have used one on my last wheeling trip that's for sure! like i said, one of the guys i wheel with has one. Q-tecs winch has pulled me off a crappy spot before the clutch works great, it's not loud, he's gotten it pretty wet too...

I would think the rubicons would come with winches,, in a perfect world. Yes, a winch is the end all be all in most situations. It is a good insurance to have. I dont even have my jeep yet but I have a winch sitting in the garage ready to be installed.

For under $500 you cant beat that price.

Its a Cubbie bumper for a Dodge Ram.
The winch is too high to fit in the pocket.

I would like to sell it, so if someone is looking, just PM me. Its brand new. Just took it out of the box and set it up.

Any winch plate can be used with our winch. It has the standard 10x4.5 inch bolt pattern.

Ah, alright. I haven't heard of that bumper, but we don't really sell many bumpers for trucks. However, we do have a website for them! Supertruck Essentials

I'm also curious about mounting this to the stock bumper. Being able to do that might bump the winch up a few positions in my mod timeline.

Does anyone have any pictures of what a plate/winch look like on a stock bumper? I'm interested as well - but curious about the pros/cons of doing that. I love the look of a mod bumper - but my wallet hates me.

look at this thread. the last post has a good photo of a winch on a stock bumper, the link in the first thread goes to Q-tec. that winch plate is on a stock JK bumper that's been chopped.

hope that helps you guys out!

yeah - for these qtec ones, what size do you like? I'm not expecting to use mine often. I def fit Joe's profile of weekend guy who uses entry level winch. Not thinking about wheeling all the time - though I'd love to. In all practicality, I might use it a few times a year. Stock bumper mount sounds like an ok plan...

i like the 11000. they're both great winches and they are both priced very well. i've seen the 11000 used a couple times. once it was used to help get me out of a sticky situation... worth the couple extra bucks for more pulling power IMO

155lbs is what winch adds? That's a person always sitting on the front bumper, damn.

Anyone done a winch on the rear instead? Just curious, seems in some situations it could be better (you got stuck moving forward right? Pull it back instead?)

There are winch plates that mount into the tow hitch receiver, guess you could always mount the winch on that and move it to the rear if needed.
