Quadratic q9000 and 4 door jku

How well do the quadratic q9000 work with 4 door rigs? I know they are a lot heavier and their long wheel base would likely cause it to winch harder... I'm looking to be able to wheel with my wife in mud and mild to moderate inclined trails... I'm not interested in hills I can't walk up, if you catch my drift.

You'll be fine with your 9000 lb winch and a 4-door Wrangler. Most of the off roading situations where your Jeep is "stuck" require much less force to get you freed.

The type of situations where you'll need more than 9000 lbs of force are extreme ones. Like if your Jeep is sunk over the headlights in Mud or something like that.

To protect yourself against that, get yourself a snatch block and tree strap and you'll have 18000 lbs of pulling power out of that same winch...

Adding a snatch block doubles your pulling force.

Oh, and the situation you cited... "A hill you can't walk up"... your 9000lb winch would do fine in that situation too... with a single line pull (I.e. without a snatch block). Think of it this way, your Jeep weighs about 5000 lbs. And that winch can pull up to 9000. So it'll be able to pull your Jeep straight up, vertically.

Cheers!

I got a Q9000 on my JKU Sahara. With all my mods it weighs much more than stock and it's never had a problem pulling me out of mud pits that I've bottomed out on. I've also pulled about 20 different Jeeps and even a Chevy or two with it and it's never even hiccuped. It's Earned its spot on my front bumper for sure.

Your winch should be rated at least 1 and a half times your vehicles weight .

So a 9k winch is plenty.

Don't forget the extras. Gloves, snatch block, Drings, a towel to go over the winch line when you use it.
