Question about exhaust performance upgrade

Ok guys and girls. I did replaced the paper filter for a performance one, I know that it probably doesn't do anything but I wanted to, and at a cost less of $75 is ok with me.

Now my question is about the exhaust system. I was think of installing headers along with a performance exhaust system. I don't want my Jeep to sound too hard, but a nice sound that doesn't bother my neighbor 2 houses away from me. Where I live someone has a jeep that sounds so loud I can hear it clearly inside my house and he is 2 houses away from mine.

Do you recommend going only with the exhaust and no headers or the whole thing?

I'm planing on staying with a one exit exhaust, does a 2 exit makes difference?

Should I go stainless steel or aluminum?

Thank you for your help.

I put a Flowmaster 40 in my jeep and some E3 plugs. After comparing my video with some other ones on youtube, appearently my jeep has the mopar hidden/factory installed supercharger. I haven't understood why everyone thinks they are so slow but after looking up videos I think I see now why.

What do you think about the E3's by the way. Been thinking about them myself. Also off hand do you remember the E3 plug stock number.

I like them a lot. Highly recommend. They really don't make a world of difference, but there is a difference there. I think its E3.66. I got them at O'reilly's autoparts for 6/ea. It runs much smoother now with marginal mpg increase and no error code like people claim.

What kind of tune do you have? I saw your odometer says Eco on and I've never seen that on my 09. Is that new for 10 or am I missing something?

The eco is basically a driving coach. It's for autos only.

Options?

None of these are options for the 2011 JKU yet? Parts unavailable and Superchip is still in design and development. Does AEM make a CAI for the 2011 JKU?

I'm uploading a video that I took today of the exhaust driving. I think the FM has the deepest sound. You'll see what I mean in a min.

Howdy,
if you are looking for a deep sound, get a flowmaster 60 series. It is designed for 6 cylinder engines and mine is the deepest sounding Jeep that I have heard. It has no interior drone and sounds great. Have a goodun!!!!!

Here is my jeep driving through my "hood"

I put my brand new $600 phone on my spare tire and taped it to the brake light. But, for a phone the raw video was extremely High quality. like 500 MB for a ~3.5 min video. So, just for y'all I put my fancy new phone on the line for this video. You are welcome.

I think I need to start a MA group. Mod Anonymous

Please help.....lol

I was driving by the Muffler shop today and thought what the heck, I would just stop and see what mufflers they had and what they recommended. Wasn't really planning on getting one just checking it out.

Well needless to say, I have a new Exhaust. They recommended the Flowmaster 40 and at $145 installed, they could do it right then and have it out in an half hour which they did. It's a lot louder then I expected. Does sound good though but my daughter hasn't got home yet. i will hear about it because she usually sits in back when the top is off. Did I mention it is pretty loud, lol.

Well, maybe. I think it is like the Viper Trottle body. It sure feels like it does. I just took it out again down a fairly vacant 4 lane behind me that I do a lot of test drive down(It was mainly built to get traffic away from the Race Track). It is a little hilly for a 55mph 4 lane road so it is common to get out of overdrive at speeds over 60mph. Even though regearing fixed most of that there was still some places I would kick down. I didn't drop out of O/D once. Seat of the pants tells me I have more. Actually, I have no clue. Sounds like I got a whole lot, lol.

Sounds like the experience with my intake too.

My AEM intake (with a dry filter) was a gift, and I don't know that I'd pay $270 for it, but it was certainly worth something.

I did find these intakes on Rusty's website the other day, and for $40, I would advise folks try them out. I wouldn't get one of the K&N oiled filters Rusty's sells though--I'd spring for an AEM dry one. All told, you'd only be out $90.

My viper throttle body was also a nice addition.

I went ahead and ordered the aFe Dry filter. Haven't got it yet but should be in soon. It fits in the stock box though. Not sure how that will work out but the claim if improves flow so we will see. Even thinking about the Viper Throttle body but will be a next month investment

ECO just tells you that you are running in the economy range, the green range on your tach! My 2011 manual has it so its not just on autos!

I guess my 09 doesn't have it since I've never seen it on. I did read one of its features is it shuts off fuel when coasting. Does anyone know if that's true and if it is, is there anyone connected with engineers or a service dept to see if its able to be programmed in an 09

No, it may show the eco, but it is inop. chrysler released a pcm reflash that takes off the eco from the man version, they said the manuals should not have had them from day one.
