Question on Bikini top vs Freedom top

No...not the kind that hold a pair of double D's....but the kind that go on your JK's.

I see a lot of people have them....it is a hold-over from previous models (TJ/YJ)?

Or do the Freedom top panels not work very good? Can they be locked into place without the back of the hardtop?

You can use the freedom panels with the back section off.

I believe the freedom top was made for the Jk. Could be wrong.

But yes. The panels have little legs that fold down. I think they but up against the soundbar if the back is not in place.

Never tried it but I've seen pics of people doing so.

Only issue--leaking

Yes, you will have major leaking without the back section on.

Speaking of bikini, I will be putting mine in the sell section in the next few days with header and door surrounds w/knobs. Since I got my Trektop NX which converts down to a Safari top, I don't need it any more and the new Trektop came with it's own header and surrounds

I have never had any leaks with my hard top!
I love to drive with my bikini top when the weather is nice!

heh, right now researching the exact opposite. Bikini top instead of Freedom Top panels.

Leave hard top on, remove panels, install MESH bikini top (keep crap out, reduce sun, even drizzle/light rain, while circulating air etc.). From the pics of panels removed (haven't even had a chance to remove mine), cannot see if you can fit the straps between the roof and the bar. Looks like there is some clearance? Otherwise anyone ever done this, if so how so?
