Questions about 1st Gear Popping out

I know this topic has been covered in other threads, but I was hoping you guys can tell me how to proceed with this issue.

I have a 2010 Rubi 6sp manual with about 12k miles. Within the last two months, it has popped out of first gear twice. Both times I was merging onto the highway. I managed to pull off the road and I'm lucky that I didn't get rear ended.

A few weeks ago I took it to the dealer and they told me - as I expected - they can't replicate the problem so they can't do anything about it.

Just this morning it popped out of first gear and now it seems there is some sort of rattling noise coming from behind the console. Seems like it could be coming from the shift boot, or in that general area.

So here are my questions:

1. Any idea what would be causing the rattling noise? Do you think it's related to first gear popping out?

2. How should I proceed with getting this issue resolved? I'll probably just call Chrysler directly since I doubt the dealer will be able to replicate it.

The TSB is on the other thread. Go there it has all the information you need. the latest TSB also addresses the "can't be duplicated" issue.

Same issue... '09 JK manual, from the 200 mile mark would kick out of first gear, gave me a complex, b/c I couldn't figure out what I was doing wrong or replicate (sporadic). Luckily, it happened to the garage manager when he drove it into the shop. He said there was a advisory of sorts about the issue.

daggo, can you briefly tell me what the solution is to the "can't replicate" issue?

I brought the TSB to the dealer when I took in the Jeep a few weeks ago. Their response was - this TSB may be addressing something different than what your vehicle's issue is, and we can't do anything unless we can replicate the problem.

The latest TSB specifically addresses that sometimes the condition cannot be replicated and should be fixed anyway. I know it's posted on the other thread . Just do a search for it and check the last couple of pages.

Here it is http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/6-s...ear-35605.html

This should be the exact page. http://www.wranglerforum.com/f33/6-s...-35605-13.html
