Question Questions about 295/70 R17 tires on 2.5" lift?

Why are there so few options in this size? Why don't more people have this size tire? It seems like most people in the 33" range are running 285/70 or 33x12.5.

The 285s seem a bit small to me and the 33x12.5 seem a bit wide for a 2.5" lift.

Am i missing something? Should I not get 295/70 r17 tires, or should I go for it?

Looking at some Hankooks:

Or maybe Nitto Trail Grapplers.

Or should I just go with the 285/70 r17 Duratracs everyone seems happy with

You should be fine with a 12.5 wide tire. I have 33x12.5 duratracs on wheels with 3.75 backspacing. They look great and zero rub

With the tires sticking out that far do they hit the fender edge when the suspension gets compressed?
Have you got an inspection sticker in MA yet with them? Curious as I have had issues with the inspection in the past with tires on one of my trucks that stuck out much less than those.

I say go for it. You can alleviate the rubbing with properly backspaced wheels.

On a more personal note, I had a red nosed pitbull for 11 years and he passed a year ago. IMO the best breed of dog!

Oh and is your screen name for the Mexicna State of Quintana Roo? Do you go to Cancun a lot?

Oh and they do contact the fenders some mainly in the rear. Again not too bad. Flat flares will fix that

Those look great! I might need to go that route. I also can get $100 back from buying Duratracs.

Sorry for your loss. I lost my first pit 3 years ago after having him 10 years. Toughest thing I have dealt with. I will always have a Pitbull they are the best.

Quintanaroo is actually a nickname for my dog that passed. I did spring break in Cancun just before getting him in 1999.
