Quick lift question

This has probably been brought up before, but being "search function challenged" I could not find it.

I have an 07 4-door Rubi and would like to put 35's on it. I have been looking at many, many different lift options and was wondering if a 2-1/2" spacer lift would be enough? The Rubi's already are higher than a base model. Right? So, if a 2-1/2" lift would be enough to run 33's on a base model, then the extra height of a Rubi with an added 2-1/2 lift would be enough for 35's, right?

I am looking for an economical, yet functional lift. I do not do any hardcore wheeling and my Rubi is mostly used on the road. Only because I do not have any local wheeling areas.

I would add an adjustable front track bar and I am thinking that I will also need one for the rear, or at least a bracket to move it.

All comments are welcome or if there is anything that I forgot.

Thanks, Dan

2.5 lift would be enough to run 35's on any model as long as you address the backspace issue with the wheels. Just have to remember that the JK or JKU in all models can have stock 32's. Even though a 35 is 3" larger it is only 1.5" larger in radius which is the number you need to worry about. If it is a 2 door you wouldn't want more then 2.5" lift anyways, and a 4 door can go to 3.5 without issues.

If you have the cash, trackbars won't hurt. I have a front trackbar and rear bracket on my 3" lift. Rides great; but they are not striclty necessary

When he says 2.5" or 3.5" of lift, I think he means actual lift. The good lift kits actually net more lift then they advertise. A 3" TF lift will get you more than 4" when on the rig for example.

Thanks for the info. Don't know when I will be lifting it, but it is good to know that I can just do a 2.5" bb and still have room for 35's

Can you post some before and after pics?
That will give me a good idea of what mine will look like.

Thanks, Dan

That's a nice looking Jeep. Did you need to put the flat fenders on to clear the 35's?
