Quote for regear and ARB Lockers

I’m considering pulling the trigger on a regear and locker install. I have a 2010 JKU Sport /W D30 front and D44 rear and 3.73s. Looking at 4.88s and ARB lockers front and rear for $4,500 installed... Seems a bit steep... any opinions?

Basicly the same work cost me $4000 to have done, it's not cheap unless you can do it yourself

I would walk out the door spending half that around here. That's including the gears, the locker, and the install kit.

Figure about $1000 per locker (ARBs Website), $1000 for new gears and compressor (just guessing -$600 gear package on this site and about $250-300 for the compressor... May need more hardware), and I got a quote for $800 labor from a local gear shop, just for gear instillation, and it would take longer to install lockers with it, so figure $1200.

So:
$1000 per locker = $2000
$1000 for gears and pump = $1000
$1200 for labor = $1200

Which totals about $4200. So In my opinion $4500 doesn't sound that bad.

Peepers hasit down "PAT"-

Just be sure the gears you have installed are tops-

My YUKON 5.38s/w full install kits/Lubelockers and Synergy Ball joints (ZIRK) was $1958-

I alraedy had lockers, so if you can, try to do it ALL AT ONE TIME-it'll save money in the long run !!

Unless you're pretty hard core, you might wanna run just a rear locker ??

Good luck

No no...a gear and overhaul package will run him about $525 for everything (both sets, front and rear), a compressor will run $230, Arb lockers will run $1700 (with all the hardware and lines) compressor bracket will run about $40....about $25 in fluids..

Gears and overhaul package=$525 (yukon)
ARB compressor=$230
Compressor bracket=$40
ARB lockers=1700 (for both)
Fluids=$25
Total=$2480

You are being charged $2000 for labor my friend!! NOT GOOD!!!!!
All these parts were found from northridge4x4 and he will give free shipping..buy the parts yourself then find some one who will do it for labor only. Make sure he is ASE certified or been doing it for a very long time. This is not something you want to "get close" it must be right. You can do it yourself if you are mechanically inclined and have your own tools. You can get a better deal man, keep looking.

Not sure where you got your gear and rebuild pricing but My 4.88 Yukons with install kits were closer to $800 with taxes and I looked around. Of course you can get a cheaper brand I guess but why. That ARB Compressor and mount is not all you need. There is more to an on-board air system then just a compressor and a mount also not to mention the ARB lockers are closer to $1900 not including taxes and actually the fluid price is a little low. Labor for that work IMO would be around $1000 and from What I guess around $4000 is were it should be.

I just did 4.88 Yukons with Eaton E-locker Up front only because had Trac-Lok in rear (ARB Compressor setup was way to expensive IMO after you account for everything it needs) and my total was $2500. If I added rear locker and air system, It would have came close to $4k easy

Northridge4x4 Jeep Parts Online Store is where I got the prices. You don't pay tax and you don't pay shipping. It's all right there on the website. The gears are Yukon brand for the the package setup (the best in my opinon) 3rd page under the gears.

If you buy the compressor then buy the lockers you get everything you need including the air hose to hookup your lockers, nothing else is needed to buy. The fluid is less than 30 bucks from autozone.

Lockers are $850 each...$1700 for both front and rear..

Trust me...$4000 is TO MUCH!!! If a jeeper is paying more than $1000-1200 for labor, you are paying WAY to much. Most of these shops charge %30 more than the actual price to make money.

Oh..and I think this is the link for your gear pacakge for $549..no tax..no shipping..to your door for $549..http://www.northridge4x4.com/proddet...VERHAUL&cat=36

Nice lookin Jeep BTW..

The top 4x4 shop here in town would charge that. It is not out of the range for a quality shop, though it is on the high end.

OPs rig is almost exactly how i want mine to be when i'm all grown up...except the wheels. Very nice looking!

Why do you say its a sport...but you have Rubincon on the hood?? How has the jeep run with the 35s on it...and the gearing that you've been running?

Why does it have RUBICON on the hood and you call it a "
sport" ??

I'd hate to think those were fake !!

You're Rubicon decals are in fact a little bit off from where the factory places them on the real Rubicons.

Yea yea... The stickers are fake. It says that in my Jeep profile. But since I'm well on my way into another 10K in mods after the regear and lockers, I don't feel too cheesy about sporting them. A D44 front axle and elect sway bar disconnects are all I'm lacking. That and a rubicon vin number of course.

It's still dishonest and even though your jeep may run circles around a Rubi--

It's not a legal RUBICON and those decals should come off--

It's up to you-

Just add a couple of letters any you're good to go: RUBICLONE.

Did you already swap in a Rubicon transfer case or an Atlas?

I think I am getting mine close to a Rubicon and in some areas better but I wouldn't call it one. I got my sport so I could justify my mods and I have no problem bragging that I have a very capable sport.
