I paid invoice - $1000 (for competitive lease program) for a 2014 JKU Altitude. It was first one they had gotten in. I didn't qualify for military discount. I know it's not a Rubi but it was a limited supply model.

Very hard to say if you can get more out of this specific dealer on this specific Jeep. A lot depends on if they are having trouble moving it. I was able to get $4000 off a 28,480 MSRP Willys in March. I ordered it (so no inventory carrying costs for them), I financed through them (was planning to pay cash, but had to finance to get the deal. Paid it all off with the first payment last week), and I traded in my Honda Element. Their offer on the Element was the best I got out of 7 trade-in establishments I visited, so I didn't do too badly on that. I hate selling cars to strangers, so trading in is all I was interested in.

So can you do better? Probably, if nobody else is trying to buy it and they would like to get their money back quickly. But that's not a bad deal either as it stands.

Welcome to the Forum!

It's harder to get a big discount on Rubi's but if you can wait. The dealers will be pushing hard to clear '14s in about 4-6 weeks, once they have a couple of '15s on the lot.

Some dealers like the rest of us have a soft spot for the military so they may negotiate more.

Even the Tread Lightly discount can probably get you a slightly better discount for $100.

I got a 2014 Rubi, almost like yours. No 430N but heated seats and some alpine stereo, 4.10's, remote start. MSRP $39,915. I paid $37,250. Invoice was $37,465.

Agree, always better to wait this time of year if you can or aren't super picky. The bonus of buying late is also that your mileage is a year ahead. You'll be at zero when you should be at 10-15K. Nice when it comes time to resell.

Invoice on that jeep is $36,788 by my calculations (edmunds.com).

If your company is part of the Chrysler affiliates program or if you sign up for tread lightly, you can get the Jeep for 1% below invoice:

$36,420

Minus your $500:

$35,920.

Plus any doc fees/taxes.

I waited until October once all the new '14's were in to pick up my '13 JKR. I found all kinds of deals ranging from $3500 to $6K off MSRP. I had to drive to get it but well worth it when saving 1000's of dollars.

Look up the invoice on any one of a number of sites(truecar, edmunds, kbb, etc....) and you should be able to get between 1 and 3% below that fairly easily.

I bought mine on the supplier program and it was invoice -1% and I think no doc fee's without any negotiating. Would I have liked to get another 400-800 off, sure, but I also hate sitting around dealerships and dickering for hours on end plus they gave me a decent amount for my trade so in the end I was happy with the invoice -1%.

Maybe not directly pertinent but I paid about 35,500 for a 2013 JKUR auto, hard top, heated seats, remote start, max tow. That was using USAA. Are you a USAA member? If not, it is easy to join and might just get you a good deal on a Jeep too.
