Radio top trim removal

Hey guys, I have a full size cb that I'm trying to find a place to mount. I'm thinking of removing this trim piece and putting a piece of sheet metal as a base and mounting it there. Can someone explain removal of this piece ( I would just try it but I always get frustrated and just pull things off if I can't get it) and maybe a picture of what it looks like underneath?

Thanks a lot.
