Rain

Hi All,

I got a noob question here. What happens to the electronics, like the radio and CD player if I have the top off and I get caught out in a rain storm?

Dave

So dash soaked and stereo stayed on? Or do you turn everything you can off to be safe? I've been curious about my stereo too...obviously haven't gotten drenched yet or I would know form experience.

Stuck in traffic with no top in the pouring rain for 30 mins. Music on, all systems go, the whole time; so much rain my cup holders were full of water as well as that cubby above the radio on the dash. Got back home, wiped everything down with some paper towel. Haven't had any problems (knock on wood). That was months ago.

Same here, been soaked to the point i had to keep wiping the inside of the windshield (because stopped in traffic) and have had no malfunctions...I dont have elec windows, mirrors, or heated seats. I got radio (basic cd version) and heat/ac. But all work fine after drenching

Well last Saturday and reasons beyond my cotrol my Jeep was in heavy rain for about 24 hours with tube doors and a bikini top. Had so much water in the front tubs that the liners were floating and as soon as I turned my 1st corner it spashed out over the door seals.

Heck of a lot of water with 0 problems except getting the water out and drying the carpet. Still have a bit of water soaked in the pamper type lining under the carpet.

Pull the plugs let it drain, wet vac what you can and then let it air out in the sun. Should be good as new.... Well except for the free rain scent
