If you mean to use the H-13 bulbs, then nope...at least not without a tremendous amount of modification ( not a good idea )

A 7" lens will fit of course, what do you have now?

Hi y'all! Got my first box from DS on 1/12 but still waiting for second box from RallyLights (harness builder for DS). Tried contacting DS by email twice for an estimate arrival, but no reply. I wonder If RL can tell me anything?

I have H4 bulbs and they are all wired up and ready. I was just wanting to know if the lamps I questioned about would work (instead of buying the entire kit).

The answer is yes then, a 7" lens in H-4 is all you need.....

Ray is running with a two week backlog, plus it's coming from PA.....

Wait...DS's custom harness builder is Ray?

Has anyone ever seen these two in the same place at the same time?

Thanks, Joel! Just been a long wait coz' my reflectors are ruined (NOKYA H13 bulbs that suppose to be "not" high wattage did it) and it's hard seeing driving at night. My order was finalized by DS on 1/5, that's about 2 weeks ago but couldn't get any answers from DS.
Check what happen to the reflectors: Hairline cracks, and the bottom part turned black.

Affirm! I'm starting to think that they could be the same person! Let's ask Hilldweller!
What's your .02 Joel? :-)

Definitely not the same person, I've called and talked to Ray in Eastern PA, DS operates out of Canada.

However, there are some of us that think DS and Scheinwerferman(from candlepowerforum) are one in the same..

I feel your pain about the lenses, I took a stone hit on a Cibie Z-beam and cost me $220 to replace(one lens).....

I have the Cibie (non Z) coming and just KNOW that although I've never had a stone hit to a headlight lens in close to 40 years of driving, it will be inevitable after the lens upgrade. Still $75 beats $220 or more.

I put 3M headlight film on mine after the hit, so far, so good. The stuff I bought was tested on aircraft at 500mph, it's hard to imagine that a film of "material" will work, but I'm hopeful. One of our members told me that his trucker buddies in Alaska swear by it.

Cibie Z beams are no longer made. There is a limited suppy of "new" old stock available that command premium prices. From what I gather, but do not know personally, upwards of $200 apiece. Cibies are still made but are not the Z beams. Although similar, the Z beams actually had a better beam pattern/optics than those currently made. The current Cibie's lenses that replaced the Z beam are @ $75 apiece.

My original comment was definitely said in jest.

I wondered the same about Scheinwerferman until I saw him refer to DS in the third person. I also saw him state very similar language that I got in an email from DS.

So here's a question I haven't found the answer to...why do they no longer make the Z beams??? Anyone know?

I was looking at LaminX also, went with the 3M because of the name and the way they tested the film. I'm not home now, I'll post the link later, then you can compare the two.....

So here's a question I haven't found the answer to...why do they no longer make the Z beams??? Anyone know?

Hilldweller told me that they supposedly met in Europe and had lunch, I'm still wondering....

Nobody knows why they stopped making the Z, best headlights I've ever owned, when I broke mine, I contacted DS, he told me that he just sold two sets to a gentleman in Switzerland and had one lens left, so I bought it. That one was the last one he had, but there is a clone being made now, and comparing the two, they are close, but not exact copies.
Here's a link to a thread on the Z copies....

Man those lenses look very similar to the Zs. I'm going to keep an eye on his install to see how they perform. Especially for $18/light.

Thanks for sharing.

I got my headlights from RallyLights installed today. The process was pretty straight forward. The write up on the forums definitely helped prepare me. It was 25 degrees outside today, with snow/ice on the ground; could have been warmer. ;-)

While upgrading my headlights, I went ahead and did the Pilot PL-203W fog light upgrade. That went very smooth as well. Can't wait for it to get dark!
