Install was easy. 8 bolts. Only needed second person to balance the bumper to start the bolts. Once you put it on the bolts you could keep it on there with one hand. I have a 2013 Rubicon unlimited. The electronics disconnect made for a tight fit for my hands but maybe easier without it.

Yup, ^^ easy. For anyone with the textured black, what are you using for touch up? I feel like I'm going to put some nice dings on the thing trying to go through a tree. (Yes I said go through)

I have used a black paint pen with good success. The texture blends in well in small areas. I would think smooth would be difficult to match, but the textured is pretty easy.

If I get a spot too big for the paint pen, I plan on using a good coat of paint and then Plasti-dip for the texture and coat the whole thing to match. It works for everything, especially with a little prep first. My wheels have lasted a year on the road and trail. When I get a nick in them, I just squirt some on top, it blends and you can't tell it ever had a mark. I did do all the prep work when I did them. I am sure that makes a big difference.

Here she is! i love the bumper. Better clearance and makes the tires actually look like 32's as opposed to tiny 29's or something. You can see the bumper clearance on here allows for a better approach of taller objects, can't wait to try it on rocks.

Nope, well, actually yes. Their made out of snow. And their usually found behind restaurants.

Edit: There's actually a place called Rocks and Valleys about 4 hours from me, those are the real rocks I was talking about.

Just as easy as the front..make sure you install the backup lights before you put bumper on. Made the mistake on front bumper. Put it on by myself and then remembered to hook up fog lights.. Thank god I had skinny fingers to work the nuts and bolts.. It took three hours ..lol. The rear took an hour.. No crash sensors

Just like the front, I think it is the best LOOKING rear bumper, but the tire carrier system isn't my thing. I also don't want the weight of a rear bumper, so I am going with the EXP1 aluminum rear and tire carrier. The entire thing weights just 70lbs. However, it is $1600. If you don't mind the weight of a steel rear, and not using their tire carrier, id buy it in a heartbeat. My requirements for the rear are extremely high, so I basically only have 1 choice.

I really like this bumper, but ...

They say not to use it for flat towing and that's what I want one for.

I emailed them to ask but they've ignored me.

The bumper will not work with the factory hitch. We have a hitch its part number 86611. Its not rated for towing mostly built for bike racks and cargo carriers

I didn't think I would get on this rock with the bumper

But I had plenty of room

That's what I'm talking about. The sides of the bumper "flare up" so it gives you almost as much approach as a stubby.

Maybe a few inches less, but the price IMHO is worth paying.

I want to tow the jeep behind my bus. So it's the front bumper I was asking about.

Re the rear number, what good is a tow hook up that can't tow anything and requires you to not use the Oem hitch? Perhaps you ought to retool the rear bumper so it fits with the oem hitch.

Jake H.- RampageProducts <jakeh@rampageproducts.net>

Hello,
Thank you for sending me this link. The factory hitch does not work with our bumpers (which youve already found out via that thread). Due to the design of the factory hitch and how we wanted the bumper to be secured to the back of the Jeep, there was not feasible way for them to coexist. Which is why we produce our own hitch. Our hitch is not rated for towing but I can say that its plenty strong enough to utilize it as an extraction point, storage racks, bike racks, etc. Being that it has not be rated, I am unable to say that it can be used for towing on public roadways.

At this time there are no planned revisions to the bumper; though there is scuttlebutt of a new bumper line coming out in the future and if we do in fact expand the line, the factory hitch will definitely be a consideration.

Thank you for your time and input.

Thank you,

Jake Headlee

I have the front bumper. I busted a fog light. Will any 4" light work? It looks like the only lights that fit will be the Rampage ones. Do I have any options for lights?

Why? It's probably the best bumper you can get for NYC.

This was the bumper that I was going to get, but then the Poison Spyder Mid Width bumper came out just as I was going to buy it(I have the rear Rampage bumper at home). I like them both but I like the PS bumper just a little bit more .

Can't compare a mid width to a full width, but I get your point.

I know the stock fogs will work, but I'm pretty sure any 4" light will fit. The only issue you might run into is the mounting points. There are only two and they're at 10 and 2 o'clock I believe. I haven't been under there in a while

I really like this bumper and am 95% sure I will be buying one. My only concerns are that I have the MOAB edition JKU. The AEV bumper and skid plate underneath may cause some installation issues.

Anyone with a MW3 or MOAB JK replace their special bumpers?

That will be a first I think...replacing a $1000 bumper with a $400 bumper. Why are you swapping? For looks? The AEV skid probably wont work with the rampage without some custom fitting.

Ok- so here is my Body Armor skid finally on. A prior posters dimensions weren't the same as mine-it took 3 tries to get it right. PITA! I already had the skid before I bought the bumper. If this weren't the case- I wouldn't (now) buy the skid to custom fit it to the Rampage. Too much of a pain for a $100 skid. Its still too close to the bumper- we added a rubber trim to prevent the skid from cutting into the bumper. (which it did before the trim piece).
I just couldn't get a great shot- best I can do.
