I assure you it's not the camera bud. I've been taking nice pics with much cheaper equipment.

Well maybe if you or kbwwolf will give me photography lessons... Honestly though, your shots are amazing. I see them all over the forum. I only have my phone and Gopro and although I can get close, I've never been able to get the exposure and contrast you guys get in your shots without some serous editing.

Does homedepot or lowes carry the countersunk bolts to mount the winch onto the plate?

Here's mine. I got everything installed about 3 weeks ago. Love this bumper. It just needs a winch now.

My homedepot and lowes have very poor selection of high grade bolts, so I don't think they will have them. I got mine at a local fastener shop. If I didn't know about them, I'd try ace hardware. Their selection is a fair bit better.

Yea I don't think you will find a countersunk grade 8 bolt at Lowes. Hdepot doesn't have anything. I couldn't find any when I was looking, so I drilled through the bumper, essentially creating 2 winch plates (winch is bolted through the bumper and through the plate)....it's incredibly strong.

Just a quick question, just installed mine today, was looking at it trying to figure out how I'm possible going to get the front two winch plate bolts in and then tightened down. Seems impossible with it mounted and the driving light pockets right there in the way. Any suggestions??

I installed my winch and winch plate after having the bumper installed. If I remember correctly I used a ratchet and an open end wrench.

I decided to move the winch plate forward about one inch and drill holes into the bumper aligned with the winch. I got four longer bolts and mounted it hard point. Much easier, and stronger this way then spacing the plate with the bumper.

Does anyone have any idea where to get the tapered bolts to mount the winch plate to the winch on the rampage bumper. Are they supposed to come with the bumper or with the winch or neither. Any help is appreciated

I'm in the same boat! Love this bumper!

He's a REALLY crappy shot after I installed some Black Box Logistic LED's. (12" bar in spot pattern and a paid of cubes in 90* flood pattern slightly angled off to the sides) Let's just say, I love the build quality of the bumper - built like a TANK is really an understatement. With the addition of the lights, there's not much on the trail that I "can't" see.

I really need to get some better shots...

Oh, and I didn't go through all 18 pages of this thread, but for those of you who were asking "what skid plate" fits with this bumper, I'm running Rugged Ridge 18003.30 - Rugged Ridge Front Skid Plate for 07-14 Jeep® Wrangler & Wrangler Unlimited JK - Quadratec this skid plate with zero issues at all.

I bought these. The specs say they are the same or better than grade 8 bolts.

Anyone running this bumper with the Metal Cloak Flat flares? I like this bumper, but figuring maybe I should go with a midlength or a stubby with the Metal Cloak flares as they may look funny together.

Do you have any pictures of of this set-up ? I'm looking for a skid plate too. Because of my work/school schedule I don't have the time to buy any skid plate & fabricate it to fit like other members have done, .

I just read the instructions for that skid plate, did you need to drill or cut anything or was it 100% bolt on?

There is no drilling at all. The only thing I had to trim was where the "crash bar" meets the skid plate. It was a minor trim (about 1/4 inch) and took about 30 seconds with a sawzall. Once trimmed, I hit it with some paint to protect from rust. The instructions said that the trimming may be "required on some models" - it seems there's a slight inconsistency in how they (crash bar/frame rail) are welded up at the factory. I only had to trim one side.

The skid is on the heavy side when laying on your back and working from under the Jeep. A second pair of hands would make it much easier as you line things up.

I installed this skid within two weeks of buying my Jeep. I couldn't stand the plastic "air dam" as it offers NO protection - especially on a Rubicon where the electronic sway bar disconnect is right there out front. Not knowing what bumper I was going to wind up with, this was the only skid I was able to find that didn't attach to a bumper.

I have no reservations of recommending this skid to anyone looking for better protection.

There are no predrilled holes. I could drill them but the plates width would cover the edge of the fog lights.

I like the look without the front plate but in NY the law says you have to have a front plate.
Hey how did you end up mounting your front license plate? About to install my bumper and I was having the same question. Pic? Thanks!

No need to drill if you are going to have a winch with a fairlead... Rugged Ridge Roller Fairlead License Plate Mounting Bracket - 11238.05

If you have a hawse fairlead on your winch I used the rocdog fabrications license plate holder. It works really well. They also make it for the roller fairlead
