I received the winch mount but not the bolts. They a re listed in the instructions but no bolts. The hardware bag was sealed and everything was in perfect condition. I think they just forgot to include them! E-mailed them and am waiting a response. Anyone else this happened to?

Best thing you can do, is go find a Tractor Supply or some place like that, and buy Grade 8 hardware. Won't run ya more than $15 bucks, and will NOT rust or break!

I didn't get mine in the box either but I called them and had them in the mail before I got the winch. Their customer service was very good.

Do you have a fastener store nearby? They sell all kinds of fasteners, nuts, bolts, etc. I would think they'd have them. Big auto part stores and hardware stores may also have them.

Hey Sam,
Are those mounted via drill thru the bumper or do you have them clamped somehow? Does the bumper create a shadow? I got 7" HIDs for my Bday. They were supposed to be 4". The 7s are normally a lot more so trying to figure out how/where to mount them. You know what they say....bigger is better.

Drilled right through the bumper. I can't see a shadow because I usually run the headlights at the same time when I am running the KC's. I am going to switch out the bumper KC's after Christmas for some rigid D2's.

Thanks for the info. I think I'll have to go with the D2s too or 4"s. The 7s are just too big for the gap up front. Mounted up on the bar my Jeep looks like a giant 4 eyed bug.

What length did you get? How do you mount the winch. It says first mount winch to plate then both to bumper BUT.....is this how it should be? Should the entire thing rest on the bolt heads that mount the winch like this....

I bought the 10mm x 25mm but too short or am I doing something wrong?

My problem was that my winch is compact- so it did not mount to the pre-drilled holes on the plate. We had to re-drill them. Nothing improper on Rampage's part- not every winch uses the same configuration/bolt hole spacing.
My winch lines up to the counter sunk holes BUT they are countersunk on the Top of the plate where the winch mounts??? The winch footings cover the countersunk holes.

It looks like your plate is wrong. Should be counter-sunk on the bottom for sure. Your best bet is to return it to Rampage. You could drill into the bumper and bolt that way- we thought about it so no one could steal the winch. Lot of work though.

This is how mine is. If it is backwards then it makes A Lot more sense.

Yep. Sunk in the wrong side. The pic should make it clear to them.

Guys with winches, how are you mounting your plates flush to the bumper? My winch holes on the plate are not countersunk, so the heads will be preventing the plate from sitting properly on the bumper. As a result, the bolt connection of the plate to the bumper itself will be weakened due to the extra leverage point caused by the space. Any advice?

I mounted mine with the head of the winch bolts sitting on top of the bumper. I've been using it with no problems at all.

Can you even get grade 8 countersunk bolts/screws? The heads on counter sunk bolts would have to be phillips or torx since a hex head wouldn't work with a counter sunk hole.

I thought about allen heads but you're right, I'm not sure if I can find grade 8 hardware that will countersink.

Correction, I can find grade 8 hardware, but the idiots at Warn, who claim to make a "made in the USA" product, use metric bolts (thanks China.) As a result, they are impossible to get here.

Hello all, as some of you have noticed, we did have a small mix up the winch plates and hardware. If you received a bumper and the kit was missing the hardware to attach the plate to the bumper or a winch plate that was counter sunk on the wrong side, please email us at info@rampageproducts.net with a copy of your invoice when you purchased the bumper and your contact information and we'll get it straightened out for you. Thank you.

For everybody that installed this bumper - was it easy to install? I plan on putting it on my 2010 tomorrow. I am not garage savvy, so I am hoping its just removing the old bumper and lining the new one up with the holes and call it a day...

Easy! But you really need two people. Otherwise its tricky to line up both sides to the bolt holes at the same time. Don't forget to keep the factory trim piece to cover the gap. (See Page #1 of the thread).

I really like this bumper. Not sure where to get one here in Canada at a realistic price. The mark up at the one I have seen puts it at $960.44 CDN

I'm across the Lake from you. You could order it to my address here and drive over and slap it on. There are also some members in Buffalo which would be mush closer.
