Yes, it isn't as simple as it could be. For example, the Rancho 2 inch sport kit, which uses a 0.75 inch rear spacer, also uses the 4 inch lift rear shocks. So it's definitely worth a call to their tech support to figure out which shocks to use with your lift.

4DoorCrush,
I guess you got a free spacer to keep or sell.

So on our 3" systems we use P/N
RS999329XL (front)
RS999330XL (rear)
So these will work with a 2.5" as well, since most of these tend to run larger that 2.5" FYI.

Rancho,

Thanks for the help. Was glad to get word from the source. Going to get Coils in from TF first then going with the shocks

Stzd8,
It's worth checking, but I believe that if you use the 29xl shocks on the front of a 2012 or newer JK, than you will need to account for the interference between the driveshaft and the exhaust at full droop.

Rancho's 3" kit does require minor exhaust modifications.

OneTraveller,

Oh boy. I thought it was gonna be an easy mission. Have you heard how they managed to get around the problem? This is starting to sound lot complicated for just lifting the 2013.

Rancho uses an exhaust cross-over part no RS720003. There are other solutions available for this problem as well. It's one of the reasons most people stop at a 2.5 inch lift. There are also issues with drive-line angles and steering geometry for lifts that exceed 3 inches, especially with a 2 door.

Thumbs down

hey Rancho...

Last time I order anything from this company..

Box was ripped open when it arrived on one end, 2 shocks boxes were not closed properly allowing the shocks to slide in and out of the boxes during shipping, missing one bump stop, and 2 other plastic thing a mabobs.. looks like this was a return that someone didnt return all the parts, and Rancho just stuck a new installation instruction pack in.

flaming pissed off, as I had guys here to help me install this, and an alignment appointment for Monday. Guess I should have taken it out of the box before I called them over. But when you see Rancho logo on the side of the box you expect all the shit to be in there and accurate.

I know this is your cheap budget kit, but come on. I'm assuming that all your other high end stuff is packaged by the same people.

Now i must return a 65 lb package, which is a whole other mess..

Sorry to hear this, did you call the people you bought it from to discuss this? Did you call the shipping company as well? We very rarely drop ship and all our product leaves us sealed and packed well.

Shipped from Amazon, but it's a 2 fold issue. The Rancho shocks were not in their boxes. So not sure if Rancho sends out the whole kit in one big box or not, but if so, during packaging they packaged 2 shocks that were already opened. There is no way that happened during shipping. I suppose Amazon could've put a return back in rotation, but that doesn't sound likely. I may not try a return, may keep the 4 shocks and just go with a different lift all together.

Note: I was likely a little harsh with my rant above, but had just come in from the shop, and it's super late here, so can't call off the other herd of beer drinking bafoons that are headed over early in the AM. SO must go buy beer for these guys just to keep them at bay until we can get the right stuff.
Rancho if you are in CA, GO TO BED!!!!.. .. I was shocked to get a response this late/er.. early in the AM..

When my kit came it came with no directions. Thank god I had experience lifting vehicles before. And as far as their direction on their web site, that shows parts for the older version of this kit including parts that are not even needed for the new version. Wouldn't you think for as many of these lifts they are selling they would update the directions on their own web site?

Lift has been on for a week. Changed out my stock 58 rear springs with a set of heavy duty 60's I got from a stock take off. What a big difference in the ride. Stiffened up the ass end nicely. I got 7/8 more hight from the 58's to the 60's. When I put the 2" lift on, it leveled out the jeep perfectly. Now I have a 7/8's higher rear end, NOT NOTICEABLE to the eye and good if trailering a small utility trailer and loaded with 4 people.

I've thought about that exact same thing.. swapping my 58 in the rear with a 60.. i'll haul a trailer full of trials bikes and/or dirt bikes and think the 60 would be better suited for the task.

Yea, same here. Small trailer with dirt bikes 3/4 people lift still calls for stock springs in the rear why not change them out to the 60's, and almost got 1" of lift more. Just remember it does ride a little stiffer. Hey i'm driving a lifted jeep . I'm cool having it ride like one.

Rancho.. here are the shots on how my package arrived.. Unless Amazon opens the box up and repackages it, this is how it was shipped from your company..All of the shock boxes were open, plastic was only around 1 of them... 1 looks like it was actually previously installed due to markings where bolts would go through, the spacer pucks are hammered to say the least, missing 1 bump stop, and the break line brackets.. ;(.. assuming the shocks are not hammered for some reason I'll likely use the shocks for awhile, not sold on the Rancho line though after this, so will start looking at alternative lifts and chalk this up to a bad mistake..

Just ordered the JK kit from Rancho on Amazon. $375 shipped minus $100 mail-in rebate= $275 net.

Better deal that getting the JKUR shocks and springs. Looking foward to the kit and 33's.

Running 55 springs now unlifted. After lift, which OEM springs would bring rear up without becoming too stiff. Not doing any towing or hauling (got trucks for that). Need decent ride unloaded but want to get stock rake.

Seedguy.
Skip the new OEM springs and put a set of the 1" lift springs on the back from Poly Performance. They are a progressive wound spring and should net you 1.5 to 2 inches of lift with the stock rear bumper and spare tire. If you do this, you probably won't need the spacer included in the Rancho kit.
