Wanted to give an update. 5k miles and moab... Real world experience.

Just conquered moab, hells revenge and the fancy fancy pants hells gate. The rancho lift and 33's were an excellent combo. Ground clearance was just enough to clear all the obstacles. Highway characteristics and mountain driving were splendid.

Not sure I would go any larger then this setup, as it managed everything hells revenge and gait could through at it.

Those looking to run 35's with this lift, it won't happen. I had less then 1/2" on full articulation. Should be fine if you are a mall rat however.

Love this kit.

A quick photo of the decent into hells gate and a "puurty shot" ;p

Very cool Jeep Matt. I think dropping in to Hell's Gate might be "tougher" than the actual obstacle.

Ya, mall crawling, dirt roads, and simple offroads, you may even be able to stuff 37's in, haha, but with full articulation and disconnects (I don't even have bumpers) I don't see how this kit will allow anything more then 33's. I do mean "true" 35" tires. Keep in mind 35's will vary between manufactures.

I was hoping rancho was a bit conservative when they said 33's are the max for this kit, but I believe they are spot on.

May eventually go 35's and flat fenders, but very content with this amazing simple system.

Mine were only 34.4. I'm going to cut my fenders but not sure if I want to go back with 35s or 33s. 33 might look to small with flat fenders

So, my lift is performing incredibly well, so well I will upgrade to the 4" next year. Of note, I really need to turn my shocks around. I lost both rear adjuster knobs this weekend at Rausch Creek. Anybody know where to pick them up? I also dented the hell out of one of my rear shocks. It's not leaking so I think it will be ok.

So the P/N RS8628
Rancho RS8628 Rancho RSX Shock Absorbers

If the dent is small it shouldn't be an issue.

The dent is not small. Two inches across, one inch wide, and probably 1/2 inch deep. Nut again, no leaks so I think it will last until the rebate next year:-)

I think I see Ranchos angle here. I bought 2" Sport lift which I love. I easily see myself going higher next year and will gladly throw more money at Rancho. Haha

Running a Teraflex leveling kit right now (2" front, 1" rear, spacers). Ordered just the 2" front coils since my stock springs are sagging. To get the Jeep leveled, I'm guessing I leave one 1" spacer in the front?

I would these start out 2.5-2.75" but settle quickly. Keep your receipt too. Limited Lifetime Warrnaty on our parts. I look forward to hearing from you (good/bad) too.

I spent about 10 minutes going over the line. It definitely has more of a "pucker" feeling seeing death before your eyes,, but I felt much better knowing worse case, I keep her straight and plummet forward toward the bottom, haha.

The 2" on the 2dr was just enough for everything on hells revenge with just enough break over angle. A few 4drs were out and were banging all over the place.

**sidenote, was bummed lions back is closed now.

thanks for your input on this thread. i can't get my metalcloak lift before my Moab trip this month, so i've been thinking about getting this one to hold me over temporarily. although, i'm wondering with my longer wheelbase if i will fare as well as you did.
cheers.

If you have rockers, I think you will be fine. 👍 Post some photos if you can! 😃

Rodin, as Jeep Matt said you will be fine, get some rocker protection though. And have a blast!
Go to the Moab Diner for breakfast and Moab Brewery for dinner at least once.

Any size lift, I would say run some rockers, especially at moab. Some of the runs, their are bypasses, so if you are uncertain, it's always an option. Enjoy!

1" spacers all around, 2" Rancho springs up front, stock springs in the rear, stubby front bumper, no rear bumper. Worked well.
