Rancho shock rebate

Rancho's rebate is back. I've run both the 9000 and now the 7000. Both great shocks. Any questions feel free to ask. If I can't answer them in sure Rancho (Matt) can on the forum.

Iv'e been holding out to see if they were going to run this again. What do you mean only 1 stabilizer. I can buy my (4)9000 shocks and still get one free right (visa gift card for the price of 1)?

I don't know what else is included. I'm assuming shocks hence "Shock"tober. Although the Ss Is a shock but we only use one.
You would not be buying 4 stabilizers. Wait.,.... Ultimate death wobble fix

Any major differences in the 7000 and 9000? With a 2013 Jeep Wrangler Unlimited Rubicon (soon to be 2.5" lift), which would best suit me? Thanks,

Why did you switch from the 9000s to the 7000s?

My response in another thread.

"The 7000 is more performance designed. The ride is firmer but not nearly as firm as - let's say the Bilstien 5100. Soaks of bumps and dissipates heat well. The 9000 is more daily driver/weekend warrior. The adjustability makes it great on and off road, but tend to fade more over wash boards I think a 4 door would do better with the 9000's because its heavier. Running the shocks at 8-9 would be too stiff on a 2 door. On a 4 door a little more control in dampening even with some fade"

I found a set of Fox shocks for cheap. I'm always searching for deals on CL/classifieds. Ran the fox for a while and a vender had the 7000's (open box) for sale. I still was able to still use the past rebate and got the 7000's real cheap. Matador made me a offer for the fox so I sold them.
I couldn't be happier running the 7000's although I would have no issues running the 9000 again.

The 7000's are a performance monotube similar to the well known bilstein 5100. They use a 10 stage digressive valve system. They feature a hydraulic lockout to prevent over extension. And are virtually impossible to over compress as you would hit the dirt cap before anything. They have about 75psi less of a charge than the bilstein. Which gives you the firmness and responsiveness of a performance monotube without being harsh (chief complaint with the bilsteins.) also instead of having standard shock oil they use tears from mermaids. That last bit of info is straight from a rancho shock engineer.

So are the 9000 shocks the only ones out of the two that are adjustable? Thanks,

Nice save on the thread

Yes, the 9000's are the only adjustable shocks.
If you click on my profile/previous threads. I have threads on both shocks

So, the real question: extended and compressed length for the different shock models. Not sure why you need to pry this information out of most folks. Of course, as I type this the Rancho site has been inaccessible to my ISP all day - that said, I don't recall the information listed. Quadratec lists some of the measurements at least. So...I'll just leave some blanks:

RS7000MT

Front RS7326 comp 14.73 ext 23.58 trav 8.89
Rear RS7328 comp 15.16 ext 24.01trav 8.85

Front 4" RS7330 comp 16.93 ext 27.19 trav10.26
Rear 4" RS7331 comp 16.5 ext 26.76 trav10.26

RS9000Xl see below

Here's the 9000's although lift heights are irrelevant.
Rancho's site is down for maintenance. Posted on FB.

Ranchos 0-2" 7000s have almost exactly the same compression/extension as a factory shock. I made the mistake of buying those. Although they work wonderfully i should have gone with the 4" ones. Any lift at all kills the same amount of inches of droop off your shocks. If you have any lift at all get the 4" ones and bumpstop correctly. Sry for not having the exact numbers :/

KJ - understand the lift height doesn't determine the shock used, just trying to keep things simple since Rancho and retailers usually identify the models that way.

I appreciate the info - exactly what I was looking for on the 9000s. Now, after we beat Tab, perhaps he can come up with rest of the numbers. He does have a point though...wish I had done it that way in the first place...wouldn't be trying to explain to my wife why I need to spend another 400 dollars on shocks.

So if I were to get the teraflex perf. leveling kit, what would be favorable? The 0-2" shock or 4" shock with correct bumpstops. 4" so it would be easier to upgrade later down the road?

I sold my 11" travel Fox shocks to a guy running the same kit. He's being careful but needs to add bumpstop to protect them. You should be fine running the 10"-11" travel shocks.

I'll tell ya their website is a bit hard to navigate trying to find specs and all. 10"-11" travel shocks would be their advertised 4" lift shocks?
