Rattling in transmission

I bought my second jeep about 2 months ago a 2013 Jk sport S and have about 2600 miles on it. When I accelerate I occasionally hear a sort of rattling coming from under my shifter. Anyone have any ideas on what it could be? I think I'm gonna take it back to the dealer while I'm still under warranty.

I also have this. Only when engine and transmission are warm and only in third gear for me. I have not taken it to the dealer yet--have 15000 miles now and no problems with it. I WILL be taking it in prior to warranty expiration though.

I'm getting the same thing in my 2013 JKUR. It seems to come from under the shifter and I typically hear it in second and fourth when I'm over 2k RPM. I'm planning to have the dealer take a look when I take it in for the first oil change here shortly in the next few weeks.

I hear another rattle that sounds like it actually the shift knob, though nothing on it seems loose, or rattles when I tap it. The one that I hear under the shifter though is distinctly different. I took it as validation when my wife heard it and asked what it was.

When mine is rattling in third gear, if I push forward (towards the dashboard) on the shifter my rattling actually goes away. Im guessing we have a synchronizer issue in these transmissions.

Over the years, I've had two full-size Ford trucks that made the same sound in 3rd. They lasted forever with no transmission or clutch issues.

A few people have had this resolved. I currently have a case open and I'm waiting for a response from Chyrsler after two failed attempts to fix it.

My transmission was quiet when new. Around 1500 miles i started getting a slight rattle in 4th. Now i have a rattlesnake in all gears and a can with some marbles in it at idle. The fact that the noise has become worse, and that Chrysler approved two repairs already, tells me that they know it's not normal, but they don't have a single method to fix it.

Wow, I hope that gets resolved for you. I'm interested to see if I get blown off when I mention it to the stealership.

Got the Jeep back this morning and I'm a happy Jeeper! The transmission finally feels right after they replaced the input shaft bearings and the throwout bearings. Chirp is gone with the install of the new water pump. The rear diff, I'll just keep an eye on and probably go to Riddler covers when needed.
