Raxiom Navigation for JK

So I would like to add a navigation and back up camera to my Wrangler and extreme terrian has Raxiom navigation that comes with a back up camera. It says the you retain he steering wheel control which sounds like a bonus cause I have read that a few of the other ones you lose that function.
It says its new so I know it is a long shot but anyone get one yet? I would love to see a video of how it operates.

Here is the link.

I don't know anything about the Raxiom but XTRyan(Extreme Terrain rep)is a frequent poster on this forum and may be able to get you a better price. Maybe you could PM him?

Mike,

Let me know what you'd like to see and I can run back to the JK we have it installed in and snap some pictures! They are a really slick unit. They look complete stock and have a ton of great functionality. PM me for an awesome deal or if you have any questions!

Is the GPS antenna internal or external?

Can a second camera be added?

Does the camera come with a mount?

Where does it mount?

Thanks for the questions! The GPS antenna is not inside the navigation unit. It is an external antenna. You can mount a second camera. The camera that comes with the unit is a "bullet mount" so it will go anywhere you want to drill a hole to mount it. About the hitch in the factory bumper is common. We will have a mount to put the camera behind the spare tire and keep you from having to drill a hole, but that is about 60 days out or so.

Keep the questions coming!

Is there a set place the antenna needs to mounted or is it just a wire?

What would be involved in adding a anther camera?

Would one be able to turn on the rear camera or if added a front camera at any time?
Pictures of it installed? Pictures of what comes with it?

Yes if you install an aftermarket stereo without the proper accessories you will lose steering wheel controls. However there are at least 3 different modules you can buy that allow you to keep your steering wheel controls. I used the iDatalink Maestro.

The antenna is a small physical antenna, not just a wire. It comes with adhesive and a magnet for mounting.

You'll just have to plug in your second camera. There aren't any other modifications needed.

You can turn on either camera at any time. There is a button on the screen to turn on the cameras.

I don't have a pic of what it comes with but I'll work on that. It includes everything you need to install it. Let me know what other questions you have!

You are correct! Raxiom as partnered with Rosen in the past to produce navigation systems for mustangs. Let me know what other questions you guys have about these units!

Map updates are done through naviextras.com. The costs are varying depending on what maps you need/want. What other questions do you have?

I see that you have it installed on the new style Jk interior. Will this fit into my 2007 and look just as nice!0? Or does the older style interior require modifying the existing dash pannel?

It'll fit right in there with no modification at all, and it'll look just as great!

Will the nav unit work with all new phones? I have an iPhone 5s and I have read some nav units can not connect without special cables, adapters, etc.

Where can buy the raxiom navigation for jk

Hello, a friend in China who want to buy the raxiom navigation for JK, and want to use it in China. Could the raxiom navigation download the Chinese map and show in Chinese? Thanks for your kindly reply.

Another good thread to follow is linked below. Rosen makes the Raxiom for Extreme Terrain, though I don't think you can get the Rosen units now. But some good info from an owner that has one installed.

Is there a unit that comes without the steering controls, and costs less or something like that, because I have been looking for a touchscreen for my '07 for a while now

Does anyone know how this backup camera will work with a manual transmission? Is it based on the reverse lights or something else?
