RCV vs. Ten Factory Rear Axle Shafts

I am wanting to replace my rear axle shafts in my 2016 Rubi HR with chromoly shafts since they are considerable stronger. I have already ordered RCV shafts for the front. However when I priced the RCV rear shafts they were over $1700 for the pair and install kit. The Ten Factory and G2's are less than 400 for the shafts and install kit.

What on earth could make the RCV rear shafts worth 4X the Ten Factory and G2 shafts? I don't mind paying extra if I am gaining something from it, but I cannot fathom how the rear shafts could be that much better? Any guidance would be appreciated.

The RCV's are made out of 300m. This is way overkill for a JK axle in my opinion. You will break the rig, pinion or carrier before you break a shaft. While I am all about having the strongest parts this is way to much overkill for the price in my opinion. I run Alloy USAs in my rear and have never had any issues.

Thanks, that confirms my thoughts. I'd rather break the shaft than the R&P. I can field replace a shaft and it is much cheaper (unless you buy RCV's).

I was amazed when I searched this forum to find out how many people on this forum have experienced bent rear flanges. This seems like it should be moved up on the list of upgrades as it seems to happen way more often than front and axle problems (based on the searches I have performed). I ended up going with the Ten Factory Chromoly axle shafts for the rear. Could not justify the RCV's
