Ready to order aftermarket wheels ••Question••

Hi guys
Finally got my JKUR 3 days ago and I'm loving it BIG time...
I'm ready to order a set of wheels but a friend of mine told me something that wanted to be clear before I plunk the cash into these wheels/tires/lift combo.

He told me that if I go for the XD Rockstar wheels I will need to change the lugs and something else that I can't remember now.

This is the wheel/tire/lift combo that I will be ordering shortly

[5] 20" XD Rockstar wheels
[5] Cooper [35x12.50x20]
[1] AEV 2.5 lift with geometry correction and procal

Question:

Do I need something else for these elements to coexist in harmony or I'm fine?

In the meantime here's a night shot of my JKU Rubicon...

thanks a lot for your help
regards,
Charles

Be sure to get the proper back spacing, & TPMS(if you are using them). You going 8.5 or 10 in wide?

Maybe some kind of adapter or spacer for dual-drilled wheels? I'm not up on 20" wheels at all, but it looks like the 20x10 Rockstars are 5x5 – 5x135 bolt pattern, and the 20x8.5 are 5x5 – 5x150...meaning, I believe, that they'll fit on a rim with either of those bolt patterns.

Ringing any bells?

Like I said, I don't know my 20's.

BTW...the 20x10 Rockstar has a bs of 4.55"; the 20x8.5 is 5.14"bs.

Yup. He would need a spacer to run the 8.5" XD & a 35" tire, correct?

Yes. The bs for 8.5" wheels is a minimum of 4.75"bs and that is cutting it close. Really not a fan of 20" on a offroad vehicle anyways.

Well, as long as you don't plan to do much offroading then it should work. If you ever need to air down, 10" wheels are easier to lose bead seal. But for DD it is fine. Your tire will be out of your fenders about an 1"+ or there about. Make sure you local laws allow that and it may allow more dirt to be thrown onto the jeep. Will give it a nice stance though.

Thanks a lot for the comments...

So the 20x10 is the right size?
Do I need to get new lugs or I'll be fine with the stock ones?

This is the look I'm after but with the stock painted fenders

thanks
Charles

I think you will need new lugs. I had to get new lugs when I changed out my stock Rubicon wheels for aftermarket ones.

That is a nice looking JKU. I'd be afraid to take it offroad though. The wheels are asking to get damaged because there is very little sidewall to protect them. If you air down the tire at all, you will be riding on the rim. I'm guessing that the ride will be a little harsher too with the narrower sidewall.

Hi

thanks for your comment
Seems that I need just new lugs

I'm not going to be an extreme off roader
just the usual river beds/creeks crossing and a few muddy trails etc...

I'll be more of a PROUD MALL CRAWLER...

Gorilla Automotive Products - Lug Nuts, Wheel Locks, Auto Security, Wheel Accessories

I just bought 20" KMC XD Thumper wheels and they came with lugs from them. Any decent wheel place should know they come with the open face lugs required to install. I used Google Shopping to find the lowest price including shipping, and even then they still included the lugs. Just ask the people you are buying the wheels from, if they don't know, I'd question how well they'll stand behind them.

I found him when I was looking, but went a different route. Do a search for reviews.

We could help you get setup with the wheels and the lift. We are out of stock right now on the Coopers though. Let us know if we can help. Feel free to PM, email, or call us at any time!

No experience w/him, I stumbled across some reviews on a few forums. I went w/4WD, & most prices were fairly close.
