Real Break in at 5k miles

I noticed significant performance difference after I reached the around 8500KM or 5k miles, the gear is not holding long anymore when I go up hills and it shifts just right to keep engine momentum.. On up hills it now shifts between 2-3k RPMs and I do not have to remove my foot to shift gears..

Does this make any sense? Any similar experience

it does until you take it back to the dealer for anything and then they disconnect your battery and you have to start all over again...

I read someone else comment that they noticed a substantial increase in performance at 5000 miles... I'm not there yet, but if this happens, I'm really looking forward to it!

Lord god, I hope I see this increase when I get there...currently at 3500 miles. My MPGs has gone down significantly since I replaced the stock tires and wheels with 17inch Mud Terrains. I expected to see some decrease...but am surprised at how much. I average about 270 miles per tank. Granted I do a lot of city driving, I just wish it was a bit better. I think its just shock...I am used to smaller cars (my last was a VW Jetta). I'm not really complaining as I LOVE the Jeep and feel like I just discovered something I've been missing out on my entire life. Driving with the top and doors off is something everyone should experience in their life...and its so worth the decreased gas mileage. Still, I'd love it if I could get just a bit better performance out of it

X2 I only have 1100 miles on mine. Wife thinks I am crazy with my wish...I mean Build list. With 4:10's I run out of gear on the highway....she is buzzin at 70 and I need to just put a piece of tape over the fuel guage because this thing is THIRSTY.

Sounds interesting, sitting on 2000m at the moment and agree with gear shifts etc. Cannot complain on fuel, getting 34 mpg (UK) since 1500 miles covered.

No "noticeable" change here at 5300 miles currently.
