Rear Bumper Question

How do I take off the silver cover on the rear bumper of a stock JK?

I took off the front silver bumper cover (middle piece) by removing the 8 torx screws. BUT the rear bumper's torx screws are unreachable it seems without removing the entire bumper.

To specify: I am referring to the silver middle piece that is plastic in the middle of both front and rear bumpers.

Thanks!

I'm wanting to do the same thing on my Sahara....

I was wondering how I would be able to get to the screws, but.....I'm guessing the only way to do it is to take the bumper off.
Good to know it's easier to take the front piece off easily....

I took mine off a couple of weeks ago. You have to remove the rear bumper, which is fairly easy (8 bolts). Took me about 30 minutes to remove and reinstall the bumper.

Not that you'll need to, but you can actually buy those brand new from places like Quadratec, just FYI. Though your instinct is right that you'll likely be able to pick up a pull-off set fairly easily and much cheaper.

I want to do that to my 2012 Sahara as well. I thought about re-painting my silver ones black. Is it black rubber underneath?

To remove rear applique you'll need to remove the rear bumper. Sounds like work but it's not. Took me about 20 mins by myself to remove bumper, took applique off and re-install bumper.
Yes it's black underneath, just cover the center portion of the bumper.
